Naw dog, bama is pretty legit. I think we are more talented, and if anything what and what. Only difference....well that's obvious. But maybe your talking about your boy Les in 2007 with two losses. Two losses with that team...smh. If that don't sum it all up. And who needed losses from other teams? Yeah...we did. Dumbass

Miles has the school record in wins in a season and then some. I'd say that makes him great.
Not the standard. How many LSU teams have had a chance to play a 14 game season? Or, how long has the 12 game reg season been around.
Find another standard to support you argument

Just for the sake of argument, what did JJ show you in the 2011 title game that leads you to believe trying anybody else, including Lee, Spencer Ware, or even Russell Shepard wouldn't have made a difference?

How about total wins and championships over the past 7 years compared to the rest of the entire country? Is that standard good enough because that one says we are a top 5 program in the entire country. I don't think you people realize how big a deal that is.

Yeah, I didn't get that, either... Didn't realize there was some specific documented standard for what makes a coach great, but I'm pretty sure having the most wins in a season in any era of college football is considered supportive of the claim. The other factors you mention just support the claim that much more.

You can disagree with the LSU actions in the last 2 mins of the game, but there is no "book on college football" that will tell you the staff made some kinda glaring error in game management. They took a course of action to force Bama to use up their T/O by running the ball, attempting a F/G, and hopefully go up by 6 with 90 secs to go. Bama would be out of T/O and have to go 70+ yds to score a T/D vs. a well rested D that hadn't given them anything the whole freaking 1/2 half. It didn't work, but that doesn't mean it was some kinda terrible coaching blunder.
I agree that it's a typical play-it-safe decision.
At the time, though (not just after the fact), the people around me and me thought he was chickening out and that it was going to bite us.
The frustrating part was that he taking somewhat pointless risks all night but then with the game on the line he didn't trust his offense to do what it had been doing.
Fake FG on 4th and 12 = yes
Trying to score with good field position and Bama on their heels = no
Come on Leslie.
Miles brought this Bama game up himself by the way, so don't blame anyone else that its being discussed. Of course he didn't admit to not having faith in the offense.

He won an SEC Championship, made it to a National Championship, and has remained competitive in the league that has won every title in the past several years. If your performance at work was pretty satisfactory compared to every other employee, would you expect a raise even if you'd made mistakes here and there? In college football, you pay winners. Plain and simple.

Come on dude! You 20/20 experts are a pretty pathetic lot. If Mett had thrown a pick 6, all of you upper deck genuises would be biotching that Miles took a bad risk, he should have known better, trust the defense, yadda yada yadda.
What a bunch of
Yeah football is so easy from the upper deck, the Barcolounger, the third bar stool from the door, or months after the fact.

It is SICKENING that the MulliGumpNecks are playing in Miami because of Miles not going for ONE more first down and three kneel-downs....

How SICK would you be today if Miles had gone for it and the ball got turned over (fumble/interception) and run back for a quick TD?
Grow a pair, man grow a pair.

You're assuming the questioning was after the fact. And you sound stupid.

Yes and no. I sit in TS I hear every damn play questioned when a play doesn't work. That's 20/20. I also hear a lot of real time beotching that usually sounds like, " well we got lucky there." if a play that the genius sitting next to me doesn't agree with.
My all tme favorites are the: "we need to do this...." followed by profanity when it doesn't work and the: "damn why did he do that!!!" folowed by cheers when it works.
I am stupid. You are the smartest person on the planet. You know what happened well after the fact. WOW I bow down to your perfect 20/20 hindsight.
The truth of the matter is that Les Miles knows more about football than you ever will. All of the coaching staff know more about football than you ever will. Sometimes things work, sometimes, they don't. That's life. Grow up and leave the

Might as well stop arguing about it. He's here to stay as long as he likes. It is what it is. Just accept it. A few of our fans and the adminstration accept 10-2 seasons. Change will occur when the money making slows down. Just look at the chicken bowl ticket sales and prices. It's starting. Just DEAL WITH IT.

Apparently you don't accept it.
What are you planning to do about it.
What's your solution to lift LSU from this malaise?
More crying?
Posted on 12/18/12 at 12:31 pm to TIGRLEE
Considering we only scored 180 points against SEC defenses, and that both Bama and TAM scored over 300 points ths year, Miles needs to do more than take blame.
He needs to hire a new offensive coordinator--NOW!

We didn't really get to see
2008 JL threw 4 picks and had a QB rating of 65,
2009 JL threw one pick with a QB rating of 60.
2010 JL threw 7 passes with no picks and a QB rating of 130.
2011 JL threw 7 passes with 2 picks with a QB rating of 15.
What more of JL playing Alabama would any LSU need to see?
