We should create a position for Les in some sort of PR role for both the school and the athletic department. Hell maybe even work with TAF to get people to open up their checkbooks.

My other consideration is Les should run for Governor. LA never has a governor worth a shite and they always seem to want to cut LSU. At least Les could put that shite to a halt.

No. Hire a real, competent AD. Tennessee hired a former football coach who backstabbed his way into that position.

What he is currently doing is the PERFECT fit for him.

That's a hell of an idea. Gov Les Miles. Has a great ring to it.

I dont think LSU would hire Miles to an AD contract while he is drawing a severence contract... just sayin

Doubt that makes a difference. His AD salary would offset his buyout, not be additional income. We'd be paying him to do something for us instead of paying him to do a podcast.

As far as being a money man, his degree is in economics. Business side of the job wouldn't be above his pay grade.

Wouldn't it be a cost saving measure, at least for a few more yrs.?

NO. NO. NO. NO. NO.

I wish people would stop bringing up Miles' name for LSU jobs.

Being and AD is way different than being a HC. Most HC's do not have the skill set to be a good AD

Being an AD has a business acumen element that HC does not
CLM may be likeable, love LSU and BTR- not a sufficient skill set

So you think he would do a worse job that Alleva?

I actually believe miles would be a great AD at LSU. He obviously loves LSU, Louisiana, and Baton Rouge. Hell, he turned down his alma mater, Michigan, 2 times while he was here. He would definitely do what's in the best interest of LSU athletics. I think he would be a kick-arse AD for us.

Why does he have to be anything but the ex coach? In 10 years or after O retires/fired let him do what Spurrier does at UF but right now he's too close to be anywhere near the program.

What about Les Miles makes you think he’d be a great AD?

He can't separate business from friendships. Great to be a loyal friend, but not at the expense of winning.

He'd be a disaster.

Think about all the crucial decisions Alleva has been criticized for. Why would you want Les Miles in that position? It is so much more than just a figurehead

I cannot imagine Miles being hired to do ANY job at LSU!

He worked for a few years for LSU FB then coasted, when he was successful he had a mother lode of talent.

Miles mismanaged his resources, there is nothing to add here. He cannot be given keys to the building, ever again.

About now, he is still enjoying payment of many LsU dollars and doing nothing. Is that character, considering he was fired for not doing his job?
