Another useless thread... please delete
not really
if people are going to talk about how individual this team is and how we don't have leadership, it's only fair to bring up how miles (in his DC decision and defense of his chosen people) has created factions on the team
miles has mishandled this situation

yup
miles needs to get his fricking hands off crowton's offense

its just about sunk for this year. i hope we can pull it together and beat arky but we might need a shake up and some starters need to see the bench.

people are gonna keep defending Miles but its funny how OSU is so much better now than when he was there.

brilliant strategy
you can just feel the team unity out there

Miles is BRILLIANT!! He is playing possum for next year!!!!
Sounds like he is using the Urban Myer motivation playbook. You know the play Myer used after Michigan handed the Gators their hat to them in the bowl last year (your fourth loss)and then told his Srs. to just leave the team because they weren't really ever a part of it anyway. You're right Dukie, brilliant. Maybe we can be contending again next year, too.

if they're not seniors, they might not be back next year, which would be sad
that's what i'm worried about now
miles has created a horrible atmosphere for this team. we may see a mass exodus of guys leaving early

why is it wrong for a player to respond when les ( the coach remember?) started it
the answer is a keyword that is in bold.
this isn't the NFL. byrd's experience in this game is barely a pebble compared to les's mountain. if he wants to call out one of his players he has the right to do so. a college player very rarely ever has a right to respond.
and it's also true some of those throws lee has made and you wonder who he was throwing to were the result of the receiver running the wrong route.
so lets not put byrd above anyone on this team. he had the potential to have a money year, but he has struggled and i guess he doesn't know how to deal with that yet.

I don't think it's that simple. Is it possible he hasn't handled situations in the best of ways? Sure.
I think the major problem is you have a group of guys who expected so much out of this season... especially seniors that came back to win.
The problem doesn't lie in how things are handled off the field. The problem is the squad goes into games seemingly completely unprepared for the opposition. I'm assuming "self-scouting" isn't really a priority this year.

So just who are Les' "chosen people"?

naw he let's em sail
that pick-6 against bama was the perfect example

i'm not
but miles is the one who threw him under the bus
it's obvious miles has not been even-handed to players this year behind closed doors, and now it's painfully obvious that this has create a schism on the team. byrd was just the only one who got publically roasted

and miles fricked them by making a horrible hiring at DC. miles has refused to criticize his DC
that's 100% on miles

this is nothing new
we saw this all the time in 2005

i agree with the playcalling.
miles is trying to make it dumb

Does Miles fix anything? He has repeated several times in every post game/ mid week show since Fla. We got to fix this we've got fix that.

les started that war
why is it wrong for a player to respond when les ( the coach remember?) started it
Les is the coach and Byrd is a nobody who has done nothing this year.
If you can't see that Byrd is an attitude problem that has quit on his team, you are blind. He walks around the field when other players are running, he doesn't extend his arms for passes, in his 5 years of playing football he has learned one route (run fast and straight), and just based off of one play on tv he questions his coaches in public.
He is a team cancer. You can't yell at your coaches when they tell you to catch the ball when you've dropped 5 passes per game. You can't make comments about your qb throwing 8 INTs a game when you bobble the ball directly into the D's hands.
Saying that Les started the war is ridiculous. Byrd started the war when he started dropping the ball 5 times a game, yelling at his coaches, and acting like T.O.

Lee I can understand. He's a freshman and the QB and was struggling but at times showed promise.
The DC's though I agree. See my new avatar pic?

byrd is a 1st round pick in a real offense with a better QB. byrd saved our season last year
without byrd we lose 4 games last year

no it's not
les threw byrd under the bus SOLELY to defend lee

To qutoe Ross Perot:
"This is just sad"
Miles' impersonation ot Goober is wearing very thin. Come on Les - admit you made a mistake, take correction action, and move on. Stop blaming players because your drinking buddies don't know shite about defense.

if a player is being a little too out spoken and talking back to coaches. pretty much being a bad egg, then why doesn't miles have the right to make it public knowledge?
it can be used a motivation tool or back fire. may have run out of options.
i sat by byrds family for a game this season. if their ego is any kind of reflection of his then i can see where there are problems.
