If he hires a good OC or gives cam the reins completely on offense like in 2013 when he trusted Mett and let Cameron do his thing. Here is some interesting facts. SIAP.

Lsu has been down but our down trend isn't as bad as ppl think.
some pretty interesting facts in it...
- les' detractors point at the '12, '13, '14, and '15 as the tell tale sign that the program is in trouble. over those 4 seasons lsu has went 49-15. that record is the 11th best nationally over that time period.
- les' record during that period is good for 2nd best in the sec behind bama, but ahead of uga, s. car, and aTm. problem is bama is winning at an 89.5% clip...a full 16% ahead of their already incredible historical record.
in short...our worst stretch is still the 11th best stretch of any team in america, and over that same stretch we have the 2nd most wins of any team in the sec. i'm just going to assume that most of the people using the word "mediocre" weren't very good at elementary vocab.

He's in a no win situation. He will either be fired, hire a new guy who will get the credit if the offense improves, or it will be claimed that he finally stopped meddling and Cam will get the credit.

Les is a very good coach is many respects but he isn't gonna let go of the offense if he hasn't already. I've accepted it.

I don't even know what to think anymore. I just want LSU to develop a QB and have a decent offense.

This firing scare will loosen him up a bit... He will stay hard headed, but expect some changes.

The problem here is the fanbase, not the coach. That's why we were the laughing stock of the country during this fiasco.
As I've said before, Les' last 5 years are equal to his first 5 years - and both are better than Saban's 5 years here.

With the incoming recruiting class next year, the team is loaded. Forrest Gump could coach this team to a winning record. Our team this year had alot of talent and we're ranked 20th in the nation. And we we're once ranked #2 this year.

We need a coach that can come up big when it counts in our SEC west play, not somebody who thinks we can run over everyone.

There are a lot of schools that I would love to have Miles.

It looks worse than it really is due to some bad loses in prime time. He's competing in the best division of the best conference in college football.

The fan base is anxious and wants to get over the hump, but in reality the record is not too bad.

The problem is a coach with no vision, who wants to plod along and have 'nice' seasons doing it his way. We need a visionary, a tough, innovative coach who knows how to compete and adapt.

Regardless of what idiots here think, Miles IS CONSIDERED one of the best in college football now.

Sorry to break that news to everyone.

Here's the problem with that stat. Football championships aren't awarded based on aggregate performance. We don't get an award for having the 11th best record over multiple seasons. The name of the game is having the best record in the west and then a top 4 resume to play for it all. If nothing else, then playing in an upper echelon bowl game. Right now, we're in corporate branded bowl game hell. The program has deteriorated. He needs to put more than 9 wins together in a given year. That is the only way you can justify paying him what you do and paying this staff top dollar.

You blame the problems at LSU on the fans...the only reason why LSU has been able to be the team they have been the last 15 years is the fans.

Would LSU be able to build better facilities to entice recruits without the fans?

Would they be able to pay the coaching salaries without the fans?

Yet you call me delusional

Maybe the record, but not in accomplishments. Still, your point remains. Last 5 years haven't been that bad. But we want to be elite, and LSU hasn't really been elite either since 2011 or 2012.

LSU is easily one of the top 20 programs over the last 5 years.

In what world is that mediocre?
