Some of you just don't get perception. It doesn't matter if Miles is the greatest coach since Bill Walsh.

He is not perceived that way.

funny thing, i had a few sarsaparillas with a kentucky fan last weekend and asked him what his honest opinion about Les Miles was. he responded by saying that Miles was "special" (in a very negative way), but would love him at kentucky because 7-9 wins a year would be great there. compared Miles to Tubby Smith...lots of wins and a championship early, but brought the program down. commented that LSU is a big time football school just like kentucky was big time in basketball and that LSU can't have Les Miles winning 8-9 games a year just like kentucky can't have tubby smith winning 20-22 games a year there.

....and if LSU went 6-6 this season, you Miles apologists would be bragging in 2011 how he averages 9.5 wins a season instead of realizing LSU football has a problem.

And if my aunt was hung she'd be my uncle.

I don't have to go by if this or if that, he HAS averaged 10.2 wins per season, that is REAL.

Have a GREAT DAY!

Larry Coker HAS averaged 10 wins a year at Miami and found an interesting tidbit from the 2006 season.....

The following week, the 'Canes lost to Virginia Tech 17–10, as ESPN analysts questioned Coker's management of the clock in the game's final minutes.

i guess great football minds think alike...and that unfortunately is REAL

If LSU goes 6-6 this year, I think you'd have to search pretty hard to find "Miles apologists". Probably about the same number as you'd find bashers if he goes 12-0 and wins the NC game.

4 mill a year was in his contract IF he won the BCS N.C.
he earned it.
the same 4mill a year was written into saban and meyer's contract.

he don't owe you shite.

Couple of things: Miles is 3-2 against Ar-Kansas.

If Miles is like Tubby Smith and that isn't good enough for the fan base, then LSU doesn't deserve Les Miles as a coach. Ask Kentucky how much fun Billy Gillespie was to have around. And talk about selling your souls for a championship hiring that complete sleaze ball Calipari, who, by the way, hoarded every five star in the country last year (at least it seemed that way) and could do no better than the Elite Eight, beating East Tenn St, Wake Forest and Cornell in the process. Whoopa-dee-do.

Oh and how has Miami done since firing Coker? Randy Shannon is 21-17, compared to Coker's 60-15. Shannon's lost more games in his three seasons than Coker lost in 6 but Miami was heading in the wrong direction under Coker?

I don't give a shite about perception.

U can keep your perception and I'll keep the 51 wins, the 2 west title, the 2 BCS wins, the 4 bowl wins, and the NC.

Miles winning the championship earned him a raise, not an extension dipshit. He got an extension and a NEW contract that had nothing to do with his original contract's stipulations. Saban's was the same. He didn't get an extension after the 2003 title, I believe it was just a raise but I could be wrong. Saban also made $2.6 M/year after that.

I honestly could not care less about Larry Coker or his record at Miami. It has nothing to do with the SEC, LSU, or Les Miles.

fricking perception? Do you go cry in the corner if someone picks on you for what kind of shoes you wear?

People hated it then too. It was one of my pet peeves. It's just that you can swallow it easier when you are winning. We constantly cringed at everything he said, even when winning.
