To be fair though, do you remember how awful Aaron Murray looked as a true freshman? He was flat-out Chernobyl-level bad for much of the time. If you think about it, this isn't uncommon in college football. It's just that in LSU's case (other than Mett), our awful first-year starting QBs have tended to stay awful recently

Les has been fricking up LSU's QB situation for going on 7 years now. This is to be expected.
I missed the last 5 minutes of State game because I was in the bathroom throwing up. When I found out that the final score was 34-29 and that Harris came in and sparked the team I thought how ironic that it took an injury to Jennings for Harris to get into the game. Unless Les just thinks Harris was lucky or something, he needs to get a damn clue. I'm sorry... this just makes no sense to me.

I am fine with Jennings starting, and potentially starting against Auburn, as long as if he struggles we go to Harris.
And in games that Harris struggles, we go back to Jennings and give him a shot. If they're both struggling, then go with Harris. I'm fine with that.
I just don't want to throw Harris out there and be like, "hey, you're the guy no matter what."

Shea Dixon changes article title from "Jennings will start" to "Jennings will likely start"
Is he wavering? Does Harris have a chance to start now?

If anything will be the downfall of Les, it'll be a bad qb. He'll die before he admits he's wrong on any of them.

does anyone honestly think jennings is going to win SEC games? he just doesn't have it between the ears and he's been in the system since january 2013.
I actually want Harris to start. But I don't think you run a major college football team by giving your QB that short of a leash and changing course this soon in the season. Unfortunately I think this is a situation where Jennings is going to have to do even worse before they make a change.
Jennings has support in that locker room and on the coaching staff, whether people want to admit it or not. Those that support him need to be convinced that he doesn't have what it takes before Harris gets a shot. That's going to take more than one bad game.
I don't think we're going to win SEC games this year with either of these guys, and by that I mean we'll win some and lose some. NC chances are over regardless.

I'm really not sure how short the leash is there. Jennings has started 4 games this year and has struggled mightily in both games against solid defense. In the other two, he was a mixed bag against really bad defenses.
Not saying that it's going to happen for sure, but how many losses and poor offensive showings are sufficient leash?

I just saw the news. How is it going in here?

Perhaps Les Miles is keeping Jennings as the starter so that the opposing teams' defensive coordinators plan the defense to countermeasure Jennings rather than Harris. Just a thought...

It really doesn't matter which QB starts.
Harris may have more physical upside than Jennings...but in the final analysis, what does that really matter when either one of them are just going to line up in an offensive set that doesn't fit their particular skill sets?
I mean at the end of the day, does it really matter which one of them takes the snap and pitches it back to Fournette on the toss dive?

He's going to get until the Bama game at least IMO. If Jennings is still horrible then BH will get the nod.
Not saying I agree with it but I'll understand if that's the way it plays out. These are people we're dealing with here.

Lsu fans should be known for being terrible by now.

This is the dumbest post ever. This scenario is exactly what you try to avoid.

Miles Logic:
There's no way for us to know whether Harris should be the starter unless we have Jennings take all of the snaps for the rest of the season.
That way, if things don't go well, we will know for sure that Harris should be the starter.

I don't have any evidence. I assume Jennings has friends on the team that support him. That's not an unreasonable assumption.

He'll die before he admits he's wrong on any of them.
If he didn't change his mind in 2010 when Lee was proving to be head and god damn shoulders above JJ, then I don't know why in the world he'd change his mind now. This is how he's losing support. Losing games is one thing. Showing no sense of urgency whatsoever to address clear problems is another matter entirely.
