Here's to the Commander And Chief of the LSU football program for just maybe ...... just maybe learning something from the 2011 football season. IF..... LSU goes on to win another championship under Les Miles in 2012 I will annoint him the best college football coach in America. God Bless our coach!!! Geaux Tigers!

Miles quote: “We’re not so prone to discard him (Zach Mettenberger) for a mobile quarterback,” said Miles, who did exactly that last season when he benched dropback quarterback Jarrett Lee for the mobile Jordan Jefferson even though Lee was No. 1 in the Southeastern Conference in passing efficiency and 13th nationally at the time through eight starts.

The Rub: While Miles football I.Q. has been impressive as the "Mad Hatter" persona would indicate I find it borderline insane that he would bench the #1 QB in the SEC in 2011 for no apparent reason other than to have a more mobile QB and then NOT bench our current QB was has to be the slowest footed QB in Tiger history..... Go figure. At least he's not repeating same mistakes and that's always a good sign. Props to CLM!

Duhhhhh..... NO one? I think Mett will be an outstanding QB this season. Point is Miles is NOT going to replace him like he did JL in 2011. Mett will come through for LSU. He just needs better protection and a more clever play-calling scheme to keep the defenses guessing and to give him more time to find open receivers down field. Let it happen. Geaux Tigers. USCe will not be ready for what LSU brings to the table on Sat. night offensively.

a dual threat.

we have two QBs who meet that description.

bolden, 6 4" 208, Penn State transfer, a junior who looked courageous but not top shelf passer last time I saw him on TV.

and a redshirt freshman Jerrard Randall 6 1 185. Too small to risk for what I have in mind, a kind of single wing thing with big backs up ahead of the passing tailback.

My take on the whole thing is that the NCAA practice time limit
cuts into what you can do.

Smacker.... as in cracker? What's your point. I guess I'm too old for this childish b.s. You guys carry on..... Just making a good PosiTiger comment about Les Miles - nothing more and nothing less. Enjoy your evening.

I believe we'll see the same stuff we've seen for the last 5 or so years offensively. Everybody (including Towson) has prepared quite well for it. I hope I'm wrong and will gladly feast on crow if LSU wins.

And then what are you going to do with the receivers who have about 25 drops this year? And the offensive line which has been less than stellar. I dont blame it on Mett. He is slow footed somewhat but with a little blocking he can find receivers. He throws a great long ball but is ver rarely allowed to do that. I for one dont put the blame on him. And as far as Bolden go back and look at tapes of him. He was replaced as a starter at Penn St. That should tell you something

Bolden is not a dual threat QB! This fantasy that he is needs to stop.

Here are his stats from last year when he was at Penn State:

53/135 39.3% for 685 yards, 2 TDs, 7 INTs. 29 carries for 38 yards.

Still think he's a dual threat? Or even a threat?

I believe this also but we're so down from injuries I feel it is going to be a long season regardless.
