I've made that comparison before, both former football players with similar skill sets who play with reckless dis-abandon.

OK, I think Mikie = a baseball playing Brett Favre. Great post.

I don't think Mikie is a lead off in the pros but they are similar in their style of play.

Umm...no. Think of a good minor league player and that'll be Mahtook. He may get called up after about 4 years in the minors.

Sizemore hasn't always batted leadoff i.e. this year he is in the 2-spot. But yeah, i agree similar style of play. Both are 5-tool players too or at least damn close

Sizemore was drafted in the 3rd round and was in the minors for 4 years before getting called up

unless Mahtook ends up on the Yankees, no chance he is slobbered over as much as Brett Favre

yeah, out of HS. He debuted in the MLB at 21 years old.

Mahtook is a good athlete, but he doesnt quite have the coordination and fluid athleticism that Sizemore possesses

and i dont think he'll ever be a 30 HR hitter in the MLB. I could be wrong of course.

All i am saying is that their style of play and skill set is similar. I am a big Indians/Sizemore fan so I am smart enough to know Mahtook would have a long way to go. And i also know that Sizemore got drafted in the 3rd round out of high school, which is very very good

I don't generally like comparing players with each other (which is why I was joking with you, or attempting to anyway), but I agree that Mikie has Major League tools. I am in Oxford now and I hope I get to see him play tomorrow night--weather and illness permitting.

He has 8 hr through 36 games this year. In the MLB that would translate to about 40 hr's in 162 games. However, I do recognize that he is using an aluminum bat and facing college pitching right now.
