re: Mike only has to work 6 days a year, and he can't even do that!

After all, we got the stinking tiger for our own entertainment. That's the only reason he sits on campus. Might as well get him to the games.

How do you think all of those donors that gave money to Mike's Habitat feel about him not being on the sidelines before the games?

Why does LSUsports.net proclaim this as some kind of tradition when Mike VI hasn't been to a single game this year?

Shouldn't really be his choice. Does he choose to stay in his tiger habitat instead of roaming free in the jungle with other tigers? I guess he really doesn't have a choice.

Why be so hypocritical? If we are cold-hearted enough to keep him as a pet, we might as well get him to the stadium.

Bottom line:

1. Vet school takes care of Mike;

2. Vet School does not want Mike at game; and

3. Mike is not going to game.

Yes, they sat down with Mike lawers and worked it out. It is not fair to trick a cat. Of course if we had a dog mascot, we could just rattle the car keys and he would be jumping up and down to get into the trailer.

All I am saying is if the point of having a Tiger is for it to be our mascot, get one that wants to go to the games. This way we won't have to force or coerce (steak!) or trick (cat nip?) him into the trailer. I am sure once he figured out he was tricked, it would crush his self- esteem.

Sorry, I couldn't imagine another reason why they would forbid coercing or tricking him into the trailer.

I agree with you about the real Mike being any influence on my game day experience. A tiger in a cage doesn't influence the outcome of a game one bit. My neighbor played for Bama about thirty-four years ago. He said that when his team played in TS, before they would run out they would tease the tiger in the cage that was parked on the side where his team ran out. He said players would squirt the tigers with their water bottles, scream at the tiger to get him pissed, and spit at the cage. The coaches had to tell the players to stop teasing the cat. Yeah, Mike really scared the crap out of the opposing players.

Mike says frick yo couch. He does what the frick he wants.

I agree with you somewhat, but apparently wild tigers behave differently than domesticated cats or dogs do. They are smart and know when things are different and dont react well to it.

Also, a few years ago they left mike on the field when the pre-game fireworks were going off, which really spooked him and still has a negative effect on his loading into the trailer.
