I just flatly disagree with Detillier and I don't even dislike him. Les Miles has shown two things in his career at LSU that are undeniable. These are facts.

1. When he has a QB that he trusts, he will ride him. Russell, Flynn, Mett, etc. Think of the ones he rotated. Lee, Jefferson, Hatch, Jennings, and Harris.(Harris may not be on this list after this season)

2. When he has a QB that he trusts, he will let that guy wing it. Refer to the list above. Notice we had good passing seasons in the seasons when we had trusted QB's and were run heavy in the others?

I think Miles is praying, begging, hoping, wishing, and dying for Harris to put it all together because I think he knows that if Harris can do that, he has a title contender for the next two seasons.

This statement makes no logical sense to me. Neither QB offers a talent that would require them both. At least with MF and RP there were two differences. What makes them dangerous is if you can get production in both ways from your second guy. RP could throw and offered a run perspective. Hell even bringing in JJ with JL brought a little different gameplan as seen in Bama 2011 game 1. Tebow and Leak provided different skill sets. Whoever CLM brings in will be the horse in my opinion the whole season. Not like whoever the backup is will make much difference

What scares me is if both are busts and they'll have to resort to playing Franks early. I like Franks, but you never know how they will develop once at the college level. Really need someone to step up that way Franks can redshirt and mature for a year or two.

Same situation going on at Bama. If Coker is a bust they have to resort to playing a highly rated high school kid as a true freshman essentially. You don't want freshman playing QB. Rarely ever works out. Defenses typically eat them alive. Even with Manziel. He was horrible against LSU defense while he was in college. You want to groom your QB. LSU is completely screwed if no one takes the reins this year and does adequately.

But. Something no one really appreciates. It's not like elite QBs are easy to find. Most schools are looking for a Playmaker QB. How many are there really? Connor Cooks, Boykin, potentially Jeremy Johnson, Barrett/Jones. Name me some more.. I can't really think of any. And even the ones who are highly coveted with great stats are really misleading. Watched Mariota get eaten alive. His stats look good but it almost always fails. Pro style offenses have won the NC just about every year outside of Cam Newton and Tebow years. Even Ohio St ran a pro style with a mobile QB.

Hence why the NFL is having to pay average QBs top dollar because they don't have that many. Jay Cutler 100+M really? Kapernick 100+M. Tanehill at Dolphins makes 80+M. Really..? It takes a lot to be a legitimate quarterback. Last great QB to come out was Andrew Luck.

Mike D doubled down when asked about Jennings vs Harris running

Said Harris didn't run at all during the season.

Miles is a known obfuscator and poor communicator to the media. I wouldn't get to riled up about it just yet.

I think he has been reading the rant too much. I really don't understand why people think it's ok to just revise history to fit their own narrative.

He also said AJ was a better runner than Harris because "we haven't seen Harris run yet". That makes a lot of sense.

les like to mix in a second QB when they are stylistically different.

But Harris And Jenninn essentially do the same thing only Harris has a better arm and is more athletic and Jennings had a better grasp of the offense (last year)

There is no reason to play Jenning if Harris can run the offense

hat Harris will start but that Jennings will play a lot of snaps because Miles likes the 2 QB system.

Ya know, I'm no Miles fan but based on what evidence can one even try to assert that Miles "likes a 2QB system?"

Nothing I've seen in his time here would indicate that. Quite the opposite in fact. He seems to avoid 2QBs being in the mix like the plague.

He is the radio equivalent of Skip fricking Bayless! He doesn't not stop talking! Matt says like three words during his segment. I change the station now when he's on

Didn't Mike D also say that Kenny Vacarro was the Saints best DB ever?

Agree with your whole post but I'd add Russell Wilson to that last sentence

I hate to bash on the guy but if he said that he is a freaking retard. There isn't a damn thing in Miles past leads him to believe Miles actually wants a 2 QB system?

He's a dumbass. This is, by far and away, the dumbest comment I have seen/heard regarding the QB situation. And I've read some really dumb shite on this website.

I wouldn't go that far as of yet. Detillier can be a source of good info at times despite his sometimes ignorant statements. GG is just an all around turd of a troll who is notorious for writing articles that contain a complete lack of rationale or substance. I hate that cratered face fricker. It's even worse when ESPN pulls up this surface of the Moon faced looking imbecile on a program as an "LSU Insider".

I wouldn't be COMPLETELY against Jennings getting 1 series each half, IF he has improved from last season. Sort of like what Richt used to do with Shockley, even though he had a very good starter in David Greene.

I would rather not do that, though, if Harris proves he's good enough.

2 Qb means that you don't have one.

Whose fault would that be? The answer is Coach Miles. Either you can't develop the players at that position or you didn't recruit the position well enough.

It really doesn't matter. If LSU plays 2 it will likely be a ho hum season. If they play one some games and one in other games it will likely be a ho hum season.

Again, it doesn't matter, the success of the team falls squarely on the head mans shoulders.
