This one did. It's the time of the year this kind of effort shouldn't happen

He’s gets off on midweek losses so he can mock his entire audience. He’s a tool.

They don’t really matter, but we should never get beat by Southern. Especially in that fashion.

Win the rest of the SEC series, with one being a sweep, make a run deep into the SEC tourney.

That is how LSU gets a national seed.

I'll be worried if we lose 2/3 at Mizzou or against UF or at Alabama.

But struggle a little, possibly lose a starting pitcher to injury and finish with 15-16 SEC wins and suddenly those meaningless midweek losses (coupled with the 3 losses to TX) mean we are on the bubble (or outside looking in) to host a regional.

They don’t mean anything as long as we finish well in the SEC.

It’s not like we have had any issues this year with pitcher injuries...(Sarcasm font)

The ship has sailed IMO. LSU got swept at UT and has lost too many midweek games already. If they want to be a national seed they most likely need 20+ SEC wins and to go deep in the tournament.

Finish in Top 3 of SEC, and a seed is ours. Even after this loss, RPI in Top 10.

I think it's going to take 20+ wins to get there.

Posts like this astound me every year. It's clear a large portion of our fanbase has never paid attention to college baseball. If LSU wins 20 SEC games they will be a national seed. Regardless of how many midweek loses they have. Florida proved that a few years ago.

I literally just said winning 20 SEC games and a run in the tournament gets them a national seed regardless of the midweek and OOC record.

I mean, it's even in the post that you quoted.

I think 20 wins the West which should lock in a national seed. Anything less and the non-conference losses can come into play.

It seems like everyone (The it don’t mean nothing crowd) just assumes we’re going to get ALL our pitchers back healthy AND coast to 20 wins. The SEC is loaded this year (as always) and we have had a bad case of the injury bug so far this year.

I hope they’re right. I hate to give people solid reasons to pick against us. If we’re on the bubble for National Seed or Hosting a regional I’d prefer they see we won most (if not all) of the games we “should” win versus losing.

All winning the midweeks does is give you some wiggle room. LSU can win 17 or 18 conference games and still get a national seed if they have 22 or 23 midweek wins.

They're only winning 17 OOC/midweek games (at most) this year. There is no wiggle room.

The schedule lightens up from here on out (only slightly, but we still don't have to play at two top 10 teams on the road, in a row). We are already getting pitchers back that were injured during that stretch and we are exactly on pace for 20 wins.

That’s my point. Thank you.

They don’t mean much as long as we achieve the SEC record we know we are capable of achieving. If not, they can mean a lot.

So LSU has no wiggle room at this point, which has been my stance from the beginning of the thread.
