I just found this on internet:
Let’s start with the obvious. In recent years, the Tide have given “benefits” to players. They have. There is zero doubt in my mind, and hopefully any of yours, that Ol’ Saint Nick (Saban) and his cronies have illegally done this. If you don’t believe me, scroll through this gallery. EVERY PLAYER HAS A BRAND NEW CAR. THEY ALL PLAY FOR ALABAMA. It is well-known that a lot of these student-athletes come from poverty. The Washington Times did a special report on this a few years ago. HOW DO THEY ALL MAGICALLY AFFORD CARS? I promise it doesn’t come from great investments on the New York Stock Exchange. Oh, wait, Nick Saban owns a Mercedes car dealership? Hmmm… Isn’t it a little interesting that 18-year old kids with no credit and no income can secure leases on these very nice cars, all while managing to keep them fully insured and full of gas?

An interesting note from a 247sports.com poster:

It’s crazy that elite recruits are consistently willing to sign with Alabama even at positions of extreme depth, knowing they will likely have to sit for a few years before playing. It’s even crazier that so many high-round draft eligible juniors return to play their senior years (e.g. Ryan Anderson, OJ Howard, Jonathan Allen, Reuben Foster, Tim Williams, Eddie Jackson), forgoing the potential of earning millions of dollars for the opportunity to play one more year for free (as well as receive a coveted degree from the University, ranked as the 103rd (tie) best university in the country by US News & World Report’s 2017 rankings).

Read Ken Stabler’s autobiography if you can get your hands on it. The new cars for players thing has been going on at Bama since WAY before Saban. Stabler totalled a brand new ‘Vette a few days after driving it out of a Tuscaloosa showroom without putting a nickel down...and the dealership immediately replaced it.

Hell, even here at LSU, 30 years ago it wasn’t uncommon to see Harvey Williams tooling around campus in his brand new champagne pink 300ZX. That kid came from a crossroads called Hempstead, Texas and didn’t have two nickels to rub together.

All schools do it. Bama is just allowed to get away with it on a greater level than most schools.

No money down, no interest for 4 years. Supposedly this loan can be offered to the general public as well.

Yeah, THAT one is definitely a head-scratcher. Tired of living in Paradise, so let’s move to Tuscaloosa.

I honestly don't know much on that situation, but is it possible they did it to watch their kid play, at least it be more convenient.

But their family seems like really good people

And I know families that have moved across the country to watch their kids compete in college. Its not that uncommon.

Not a doubt in my mind that Saban's ownership in dealerships is a direct conflict of interest and would not be shocked if something is going on under the table to provide players and families vehicles to use.

If Yahoo gave a frick they would drive to Tangipahoa Parish and find out how deep that bagman culture is in ten minutes. Instead they will probably bust Coach O for buying a kid a meal or handing out a giftcard or something. Alabama is uniquely immune from scrutiny and punishment.

Bear Bryant found out about Alabama and the SEC Headquarters and so did Saban....Alabama owns the SEC...

never a penalty if the game is close.

but call on the other team if the game is close...

how the other SEC teams put up with this I do not know

Yep, this is an easy way to get a player a car. A dealership wanting to provide a player a car can easily manipulate the rules without doing anything wrong.

I was told it was an 8 year loan with the first 4-5 years deferred. Interest is like 24% and that interest acrues during the deferment.

this happens everywhere.

I was at LSU in the mid 80s. John Williams, straight outta Crenshaw in LA, was driving a red 5-series BMW on campus.

Steffond Johnson from the basketball team was driving a brand new 280Z, and when he got kicked off the team, another player was driving the same car the next week.

Don Redden charged $1000 of clothes with a credit card that wasn't his. My buddy worked at the clothing store and waited on Redden.

Jeff Wickersham got a copy of a final exam the night before taking it.

All of this is 100% fact, and I wasn't even connected to those guys or the athletic dept.

This shite goes on everywhere, including LSU, and it's horribly naive to believe it doesn't.

In his case I seem to remember reading somewhere that his Dad owned a chevy dealership.

Ben Simmons family moved to BR for the three seconds he was here.

Is that a problem too?

It's going on here in Athens now. I'm not being sour grapes. I have no beef against UGA. This is the deal- Kirby is an ace "recruiter". He learned from the best. He knows how to land these players. He's be witness to one of the greatest cheaters in cfb. The school and program doesn't always "recruit itself". It sometimes requires a little more. Kirby has seen the cheating in Tuscaloosa. He brought that with him. He's now equaling the hobbit on the recruiting trail. Catch 22- Saban knows exactly what Kirby is doing but he'll never say anything about it. Why? He knows his arse would end up in a sling also. How do you get the #1 qb in America to commit to a school with two 5 stars already cemented? Cmon, Fields could've gone anywhere. This isn't a result of playing for a natty. UGA was already pulling phenomenal talent prior to the SECCG and Rose. They "merely" landed the #3 class last year. That's a season of 8-5 and losing to vandy at home. Kirby will keep quiet about Saban while he sits in the east. Saban won't dare complain about his protege while he sits in the west. Part of their arrogance wants to narc on the other, but that would risk the possible downfall of their own success. Iron sharpens iron.
