seems like at this point they do matter. I mean losing midweek games early while still figuring out your lineup is one thing. Losing to a sub 500 team in late April with your "starters" batting is just sad.

I can't wait for the riot hour this week, that Ryan Theriot sure does have stinky shoes...and Matt isn't afraid to call him out on it!!!

He does it more than you think. this topic is one. Constantly touting Romero is another. But I agree with you on the stubbornness. He will just dig in and continue to be proven wrong.

Mid week games don't matter when you are sweeping or winning 2/3 on the weekend.

I can remember when LSU played the top 3 sports events! Last football, success because we got rid of Miles.Basket ball, really! And now baseball??? Oh well I guess we have become ok at being average!

not just batting. But when we roll Bain, Hess and Newman out we are definitely trying to win.

I mean, I get what he's trying to argue. Mid week losses by themselves don't matter much in the grand scheme of things. We've had a few teams in the recent past that have had 2-4 midweek losses and a few that have had 0-1. The success of those teams weren't directly related to their midweek record. For example the 2009 national championship team had 3 midweek losses; Nicholls, Tulane, and UL. The 2012 team had 0 midweek losses and they lost in the Supers to Stony Brook. What he says is true, 20-10, 19-11 will get us a national seed.

Now with that said, Moscona only wants to argue that point and doesn't want to address our struggles. He refuses to look at why we are losing these midweek games and fails to see that we are losing them for the same reasons we are losing weekend series. Will we miss out on a national seed or regional because we lost to Tulane or UNO? No, but we will not get there if our pitching and hitting from midweek games continue to carry over to the weekend.

Dont follow baseball much... I do catch his show on 100.3FM and he has been stern up until last week that LSU would finish 20-10 in SEC and end up with a host site.

day by day and loss after loss he is starting to crawfish

He would be better off talking Saints more right now

Midweek games are more important later in the season, they are indicative of a team's competitiveness & confidence level...
These last 4 games have been an abomination of LSU baseball...you can't tell me that we are in position to make a late season run playing like this...have the players quit?
I have no idea what the mood of the team is, but if they are going to play any meaningful games in the post season, they better start taking every game as if it's their last 1 of the Season...
Bama may be a turning point, on the road, maybe this will wake them up...

I really really wish people would stop listening to him. Then maybe they would make a change.

There is literally nothing else to listen to for local sports during that time.

People still listen to that clown? He is a douche and his "knowledge" is laughable.

That's what bothers me about his arrogance. The success is not him, it's his time slot. Probably 90% of sports fans in the BR area are in their cars 3-6pm.

Ott and Hanny are the only ones that half way get my attention when it comes to LSU baseball...

And his only argument is always the "numbers".

Put the morning crew there, especially when it first started and they would crush it.

I agree. As far as sports talk in general I'd much rather listen to Ott than Scone. Scone is almost unbearable no matter what the subject is..

Really, you actually believe this? Or is that the MDMA talking?
