I'm just hoping for the best like last year. Plus, I think Mettenberger has the advantage this year by seeing all of Jordan's mistakes.

And we were winning all of our games convincingly with them at QB

Yes. We might not have beaten them as convincingly if Mett had played. But if Mett had game experience by the time we hit Bama, he might have been unbeatable by the MNCG.

And even though we were winning convincingly, there was reason to doubt at the end of the year because our offense was stagnant for quarters or even halfs.

The truth is we don't know what would have happened. So don't go getting all high and mighty on it.

Proof?

I don't recall players claiming he should have been the starter all season, or anyone really. Hindsight is 20/20. Let it go, even if he is great this year, that doesn't mean he would have been least year.
This thread isn't about your stupid qb controversy...it is over. Just stop.

Seems like I read a similar article about JJ coming out of Manning Academy last year. I'll take this article with a grain of salt until I see him in SEC action.
I'm beginning to believe Mannings release these articles to most schools about their QB after camp is out.

My God, y'all are dolts. Never seen him play, and think you know the capabilities.

If you remember right, the MVP of the Manning camp was starting 1/9! I mean if you think it means so much, you should be happy.

Agreed, and I won't say I know that he WILL be a better QB. I do, however, have a gut feeling that he is going to be WAY better than JJ or JL could dream of being.

"By far," said LSU receiver Odell Beckham, who caught all the quarterbacks at the camp. "It was him and (Southern California's) Matt Barkley who had the two best arms. He has a phenomenal arm, and he's going to lead us to a lot of victories. He's got one of the stronger arms I've ever seen. We'll be able to go four wide, five wide and just throw the ball around."

In that last game we remove Jordan and insert Mett - National Champions!
Sorry Les can't see that.

Yeah, you tell them!

We would have gone 12-0 in the regular season if only Mett would have started from the get-go.

What a stupid fricking strawman. Be better than that, JJ. You're a Rebel for God's sake.

Read his post. That's what he's saying. Even if he has the best season ever, he would not have done that last year. I said when Mett signed that he would not play over 2 senior QBs. It wasn't going to happen. Just be honest though. Don't act like he sucked before 1/9 and now he's Joe Montana. What you see this year from Mett is what he is. That's all I'm saying. He is what he is.

He never had a prayer of starting last year. For 12 games that was 100% the right call. Miles did one of the best coaching jobs ever last year. Loses his QB and OC right before the season. Then loses his best defensive player as well as his starting RB among others against the defending national champs. Kept right along rolling. I'm not anti-Miles. Just be honest.

Mett was the most talented QB on the team last year. It's not all about talent though and Miles was going to roll with his guys. That decision got him to the national championship. Great job IMO.

The title of this thread reminds me of a comment I heard Paul Mooney once make about Martha Stewart.
