I think a lot of people perhaps have a false understanding of college athletics. Guys like Mett that are 3rd string probably aren't spending that much time watching film. Now that he is the guy I think you're going to see a lot more maturity out of him. It's not a profession like it is in the NFL where every person is committed to the process. If you don't see the field you're not going to be all in.

So you shouldn't try unless a starting spot is handed to you?

But he was described as "goofy" and "immature" by teammate Will Blackwell last month despite being in his third year out of high school.

Very poor journalism.

Note: I don't care about what goes on in these kids' private lives, their personalities, their girlfriends, their grades. It's none of my business.

It's none of any fan's business.

Fwiw I'm not bashing anyone. I just read the story and linked it. I don't know that he is Immature, but based on his history, I bet Miles will have him on a short leash.

I wish fans would let these kids live their lives and stay out of the athletes' business.

it's anecdotal sourcing. Not everything in journalism has statistics and a reference link.

LSU fans treat quarterbacks like the mainstream media treats the Republican candidates. They will be destroyed - one at a time.

No one is in anyone's 'personal business', so this comment makes no sense.

If you're way down the depth chart, you don't get a whole lot of chances to "try." A guy like that is in a no win situation. If he's not a towel waving rah rah type, he gets called goofy and immature. If he tries to "lead" the players ahead of him on the depth chart, he looks like a douche.

Who gives a shite as long as he can throw an accurate pass and make good decisions with the football.

Quoting him like that without any semblance of context is very, very poor journalism. That is amateur and a sign of a complete hack.

Maybe that's all he said, maybe there was no context.
