Rick Pitino - Worth a shot.
John Calipari - Definite immediate upgrade if canned by UK
Chris Carrawell - Can recruit. Long time assistant at highest level.
Steve Nash - Could recruit. NBA level coach. I personally don’t blame the Nets failures on him. Could be a great coach. Style may fit college better. Would definitely bring in NBA guys on staff & recruit better than MM.

Maybe throw Quinn Snyders name in there.
Quannas White might be a good choice. He would probably need a strong bench coach to help

Instead of these stupid speculative posts why not support Mcmahon and make a determination after he has had four seasons to establish the program and show its headed in the right direction. No matter how many times some of you advocate for change he is here through 2026 and likely longer barring total collapse. If at some point a change is needed the first call should be to Billy Donovan, but hopefully the Tigers will be in the midst of the new Fantastic Climb to the Top and McMahon will take his place in the list of the country's top coaches.

McMahon has no excuses this upcoming year. If we are not in the NCAA tournament next year, he needs to be replaced!
Each year will be a rebuilding year for the vast majority of successful teams because of the transfer portal. There is very little of the traditional team building seen in the past.
This program hasn't yet reached the depths of the Johnson and Jones years, but if we continue to miss the big dance, apathy will only increase. How excited were the LSU fans for the recent NIT hosting? From what I have read, the PMAC was mostly empty. Did 1500 students show up to use the free tickets?

Says who?
Stop acting like your opinion is a fact.

Just think the kids you are trying to recruit if they were there for that embarrassment of a crowd. I was there it was truly pathetic.
Apathy is a huge problem for men's hoops here and has been for a long time. Support from the administration for basketball mirrors that apathy and perpetuates it.

Please explain. What do you think they should be doing that is not being done?

Will Wade and Mulkey complained a lot about the lack of facilities. At one point, Wade was publicly talking about parts of the roof in the practice facility falling down and having to hide it from recruits. LSU is nowhere near where it needs to be in men’s basketball funding. It’s going to take a strong personality to demand resources

Unless we completely shite the bed next year, McMahon is guaranteed year 4.
