The MLB season is already 55 games?!?

I have not watched a single pitch this entire season, I used to watch basically every fricking Braves game all year! I blame my kids, they keep me too busy, what an awful fan I am…

I did not like that CPM started Gausman for the rain delay portion of game 1. Would have much rather he just been given the nod for game 2.

That was fine. Gausman pitched fine in game 2. 3 runs on 6 hits. LSU had 1 run on 3 hits so it was a pathetic offense output that lost the game.

Stony Brook scored in only 2 innings. Both times it started raining pretty hard while Gausman was on the mound. The rain would stop when Stony Brook was on the mound. Gausman may have shut them out on a dry day.

I think, since this is merely the Regional round, the 2014 collapse to Houston would be the more apt cautionary tale rather than the 2012 Super Regional failure.

I feel ya my man. Braves have/had one of the best rosters in all of baseball and lost the 1st two games against the A's.

And yes - I 'member that time Stony Brook kicked our arse.

Met a few Stoney Brook players in Omaha that year. They literally were in awe of The Box and couldn't say enough how it was the greatest atmosphere they've ever seen, much less been a part of. VERY gracious group of dudes.

I don’t think CC can be considered an inexplicable loss since they ended up winning the whole thing.

SB yes, cause they went 0-2 in Omaha, and then UH in 2014, who ended up being swept by Texas I believe in the supers.

Exactly. Bandwagon fans hear the name Stony Brook and assume they were garbage. They had like 3-4 guys drafted pretty high on that team.

They had one MLB player.

LSU had about 6 go on to have solid MLB careers.

Yes. And I was proud to applaud them when they did it.
