You are a ignorant brainwashed person. What in the hell does this matter one bit? I want the most qualified period end of discussion.
Outside of that first racist criteria, further explain how this guy is anywhere near qualified for the LSU job?
Well for starters, if someone is objective, he is way more qualified than hires that LSU has made in the past, Curley Hallman, Coach O, for starters.

Mel Tucker was a grotesque abomination as the Bears' DC. He fielded the worst defenses in franchise history. His defenses were perpetually confused, a factory for blown coverages and surreal sights of opposing WRs dancing into the end zone without a defender in view. Last in the league in points and yards allowed. 50 points surrendered multiple times in a single season - in the NFL! They were bad in an unprecedented way. Hiring him would be a cataclysm.

They're a top ten team...but let's see how things play out once the meat of the big ten east plays out before we crown anyone.

I had actually forgotten about this. Thanks for the reminder. It was not mentioned in the Wicki article.... I wonder why?...

Bull shi.... He was a DC at Jacksonville and they were 4th best defense in 2011. They had a horrible offense and Del Rio got fired and he was the interim HC. He also was the Cleveland Browns DC and had a top 5 Defense there.
He as the DC for the Bears in 2013 and 2014, they were 8-8 in 2013, bad year in 2014. He was more than 1 year on his resume.
Your cherry picking stats. He was DC for three different NFL teams. Did well at Cleveland and Jacksonville, not good at Chicago.

Well, he certainly has more than just his time in Chicago to judge him on. His most recent stint seems to be going quite nicely and may set him up for a more high profile gig if he wants one.

You may want to call the LSU Diversity and Inclusion Officer and ask them.
So your defense against someone calling you brainwashed is to refer them to the brainwashed of all brainwashed entities?

Mel understands what is needed to build a program. If he stays at MSU, I will bump this post in 2025 when he is top 5 and on his way to his second Big 10 title. Excellent recruiter and understands how to recruit a roster (which is why MSU is finally playing well). He knows enough defense to coordinate at the highest level. The rest of this season will shed further light on his game day coaching decisions. I think he is Tier 3 only bc of his lack of head coaching experience, but think he will put MSU in a position to pass OSU and Big Blue in the next three years.

No, it's not bullshite at all. Literally everything I wrote was perfectly accurate. He was a disorganized disaster as DC with the Bears. A colossal, historic, addled failure. His own Wiki acknowledges it:
quote:
January 18, 2013 Tucker was named defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears.[10] Following one of the worst defensive seasons in Bears' history in 2013, Tucker was criticized by the media.[11] As a result, the team fired two of Tucker's assistant coaches, linebackers coach Tim Tibesar and defensive line coach Mike Phair.[12] The Bears replaced them with Paul Pasqualoni as defensive line coach and Reggie Herring as linebackers coach.[13]
On January 20, 2015, following another record-setting low defensive season for the Bears in 2014, Tucker was replaced by former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio under new head coach John Fox.[14]
He would be a boneheaded hire. MSU is going to get pummeled by the better Big Ten teams.

No, you only cited the Bears stats. He has coached as a DC besides that. 2 times in the NFL (Cleveland and the Jags) and also at Ohio State and UGA in college. Like I said, he is 6-0, if he wins the 3 games he is favored in and beats 1 of Ohio State, Michigan or Penn State, he gets to 10-2, 2 of those he is 11-1 and likely Coach of the year in the B1G.

You state all men are equal under the constitution yet black men who commit the same crime as a white person are incarcerated at a higher rate and sentence for a longer period of time. There many statistical data including health disparities and treatment as it relates to race that you can look up.

The rest of this season will greatly impact how he is viewed in relation to HC experience. He may or may not pan out. We will have to wait and see.

He may check a lot of your idiotic boxes, but nevertheless, he isn't LSU material.
