Because if they miss on the pick or there’s fluctuation in the front office or staff, which is often the case with higher picks, the players trade value diminishes if they’re older. I’m more in line with you, I’d prefer a more experienced player especially at QB. Bill Parcells for example didn’t draft QBs who hadn’t graduated but todays franchises are more assembly line meat markets than organic and developed “teams.”

Yeah Mel is slipping. The QB Class is weaker than average ; but that that list is still flawed.

Hmmm would you be comfortable with your favorite NFL team drafting him as their QB? I also have a hard time seeing him above Hendon Hooker even with Hooker coming off an injury. From what I saw this past season, Hooker looked to be light years ahead of Daniels in the passing game

If Levi, AR, and Jayden are better at football than Hendon, then I literally don’t understand football

His physical attributes are elite. He’s only 21. He’s got a cannon. If they can coach him up he’ll be a really good NFL QB.

He's old, had a major knee injury which will likely prevent him from doing pre-draft workouts, and I'm sure plenty of scouts aren't convinced of his skill level playing in a gimmicky offense at UT when he was very average at Va Tech. He wasn't nearly as effective when they couldn't run their offense at warp spe

Bruce Young is the only one I would take early. Levi’s doesn’t seem great to me. I’m not high on Anthony Richardson either. CJ seems like he’s pretty good.

I was told by the geniuses on here that he had no chance of being drafted. This place is a bastion of intelligence

The same folks touting JD, were touting JR as a first round draft pick a decade ago.
JR was the first overall pick, so I guess you're saying those folks were right

Drafting QBs is a crapshoot, you never know how someone will respond in the pros.

Daniels might be a safer pick than you would expect; he's successfully adjusted to a different team (transferred from ASU to LSU) with a different scheme. Shows he wasn't just a system QB, and could handle change.
That's one thing you have to consider, whether somebody is just a system product.

He never plays a down at QB in the NFL.

Lacks the one main requirement of NFL QBs - the ability to read and release quickly.

Bennett should be near the top of the list.

NFL drafts on potential, not for who they are now.

Bennett might be better right now (might not be), but he won't ever be any better than he is now.

Aaron Rodgers didn't see the field for a few seasons. Neither did Brett Favre.

Daniels has some Randall Cunningham in him, IF you can develop it. There are teams that will think they can.

Agree but Richardson comes across as ignorant. Then again, so does Lamar. But what has he won?

Cunningham was always a deep throwing big play QB. Daniels is the exact opposite of what Cunningham was throwing the ball. A closer comparison would be Jeff Garcia.
