Mekhi Garner...Any news on him?

I know he participated in Senior Night, but he is only a Junior, so he could return and frankly, we need him badly. Our depth at corner of players with game experience without him is basically none, other than Sevyn Banks who barely played this year, but had some PT at Ohio St. I would love to see those two starting opposite one another at Corner with Sage at Nickel and Brooks and Burns at Safety. We obviously will have to hit the portal hard to shore up the secondary.

He did not announce. He commented on Boutte's post "gotta get that ring" or something like that, and someone on here took that to mean an announcement that Garner is coming back.

I would like to see Sage hit the bench. Seems like every time there was a big pass play he was right there in coverage but never made a play on the ball and it was complete every time. That is one 5 star that the "experts" whiffed on.

He's already been outta high school 5 years. 1 at a Juco, 3 at ULL, 1 at LSU.
And I saw him getting some draft buzz around midseason. I'd be pretty surprised if he came back.

He is playing out of position, He is a redshirt freshman filling in as a Nickel but is more naturally a safety. He came in with a hamstring injury and, as another poster pointed out, he hasn't looked as explosive since.
He has played quite a bit. He gets noticed when he whiffs and has had a couple of PIs/Holding calls that seemed awfully questionable call, as I recall. Note that he also has 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries this season.

He hasn't announced anything but last I heard he was leaning towards coming back.
Can't blame him either way IMO. He has been in college for a while and will probably go at least early day 3 with a real chance to make a team.
