Two years in a row Miles' DC leaves despite being implored to stay. Interesting development.

I'm pretty happy about this departure. I'm not sure how anyone possibly sees it as a negative unless they want it to be.

a better chance at losing his head coach at Auburn than LSU by the end of next season. Just saying, Malzan is on the hot seat.
Don't think Auburn has a "Malzahn" clause like our Miles clause. That makes contract guaranteed even if Gus goes.

I'm certainly amenable with his departure, just find the circumstances interesting.

I think the best news coming from this is that we weren't interested in a bidding war for Steele.

That gives me hope that they knew he was overpaid already and not worth it.

It is kind of fun to see the posters who would put a negative spin on it whether he stayed or went. That kind of dedication is what makes the Rant such a great place.

So. Just to be clear. You are happy to be rid of an LSU coach.

Why do u insist in trashing a team you're supposedly a fan of?

Miles should take over the defense. Ya know, seeing that he's the best coach we've ever had, I'm certain he can handle it.

Steele wasn't that great of a hire and the proof was the dropping D rankings. You won't find a post of mine pro-steele.

I wasn't trashing anyone. I think this is a mutually beneficial departure for the team.

No, even the greatest of coaches have coordinators to take some load off. That wouldn't be a good idea.
