I saw this coming. Herman is an excellent coach and a Mensa member. I would absolutely want to play for him. We hired Swamp People

They are getting better. Herman took over a dumpster fire. Charlie was trying to pull it out but made some bad decisions with personnel. Herman is having to change the entire identity of that program. Mac left it out in the pasture to rot.

yeah after seeing the end of the Mac era up close i was worried LSU would have a similar problem with Les, turns out we managed it even worse.

Our 2019 trip there is going to be brutal unless something pretty dramatic changes.

If the BOS doesn't make a move after this year on Alleva, LSU will frick around and become a bottom tier team in the SEC.

This. I swear Alleva has F King or Ballard Nudes. Why hasn't he been fired. This is a kick in the nuts to all LSU fans.

Even if Alleva had swung for fences with Herman, rolled out the red carpet for him, gone toe-to-toe with Texas for him and lost, Alleva would have wound up looking better than he does right now.

Instead, he rolled over like a bitch and followed one awful decision with another. That isn't a mark of a competent leader, it's the mark of someone who has no idea what he's doing.

And Herman will turn it around here in Austin and will compete for titles.

Texas won't be competing for any titles anytime soon. That place has a bigger administrative problem than we do and their big boosters want to control everything.

The coach Alleva didn't even bother trying to bid more than once for has the #2 recruiting class and a true freshman QB who just threw for 380 and ran for 109 last week.

Herman to UT was a foregone conclusion. They lusted after each other.

I think Jimbo was a possibility, but it seems more likely he was using us for leverage. In the end, all that matters is that Alleva intended to hire a HC he could control so the search was doomed from the start.

Herman is absolutely crushing recruiting right now, but his game management leaves a lot to be desired. If he figures that out, Texas will be elite again.

Much of the administrative cancer is gone. The UT president here in Austin unlike ours acknowledged the issue and made changes. And the difference between their boosters and LSU's is they want to win. They are bat shite crazy though. I will say this..Texas will win another title before LSU.

Yeah LSU has a bat shite crazy President, and the worst Athletic Director in the P5 outside of Ole Miss. They didn't even do a coaching search. Alleva went down to the credit clown used car lot on Florida Blvd picked out the biggest piece of shite on the lot and told the fans it was a Ferrari. I really do hate Alleva.

I was looking forward to the 2019 game. If sweeping changes are not made with a total reset, that game will be a bloodbath.

Yeah.. but the SEC is going down the shitter. I wouldn't brag about the SEC right now. Hopefully things can turn around.

I don’t want O as the coach either, but Herman was never going to come to LSU with Texas open or near open.

Herman's agent said $6m/year would've gotten it done. Offer him $6m and then if he says no, then you can walk away knowing you gave more than a fair offer.

Alleva was appalled that the hottest coaching candidate in the country dared to negotiate with him.

They didn't make a real effort for Herman. You force him to turn you down and if Texas wanted like they claimed, you make them pay for it.

Probably. But Alleva did not do a true search beyond that. Could be that Herman really did not want to come.
