Red, my concern is that if you're a bottom feeder two years in a row, the stink sets in and people just look at you as a loser.
Basketball is really not that way . After the sanctions are announced I think the next group of freshmen and transfers will be enough to get us in the upper half of league. It will only take 1 or 2 players to elevate an average team to good. He’s convinced he can get there by year 3 . They practice their arse off it’s unbelievable the diff in precise coaching vs Wade. He’s the lead guy at practice . We are just outmanned out on the perimeter so bad it’s impossible to create any flow. I knew we were gonna be a bad shooting team but was hoping CMM grinding style could get us a few wins in conference

Some people need a reality check.. we didn’t hire McMahon to make deep tourney runs in his first two seasons. This is a hire for the long run. Wade fricked this entire program with his cheating scandal. It’s going to take 3-5 years before we start having legit success
People who think we need to fire McMahon after one or two seasons because they’re throwing a bitch fit that Wade is gone need to grow up and quit whining

There is so much I'd honestly like to say to the people who talked so much crap about mine and others' "negativity", when we were trying to be straight about the clear warning signs we were seeing that this was probably going to happen when this team entered conference play... But what would be the point? They don't listen, anyway.
The Arkansas game was a brick fest, where we shot one less brick. But at least we got that one.

This team would be an embarrassment if it wasn't for KJ. I honestly did not think he was as good as what he has been for us. Really strong and gifted offensively.

Unfortunately we know what it takes to get those kind of players and we can’t play that game right now thanks to the cloud over the program. Do I think he can get it done? Eventually yea but you make a fair point. By year 3 the bloom is off the rose and perception becomes reality so the difficulty amplifies

Not sure if miller wants to come back, but if he does, he, fountain, ward, Reed, hannibal, and hayes should come back. Everyone else, bleh.
I dont get the Reed hate, dude has potential. Wtih his size and handles, he could be a good player next year. Big men take a while to develop.

I agree. Fans have been touting the ability of the staff for filling the roster on such short notice. Problem is, most of those guys aren't SEC quality basketball players.
Hopefully, he is now aware and can recruit talent capable of playing against the competition.
There was a reason those players went to second tier programs out of HS.

It would have been nice if Murray and Gaines stuck around, but oh well.
The short-term fate of LSU bball will rely mostly on local talent--both HS recruits and transfers from other programs that want to move closer to home. It is what it is until the sanctions hammer drops. Until then we just have to hope for a well-coached, gritty team and enjoy guys like KJ when they do come through.

Adam Miller by far is the most disappointing player on this team. We needed his shooting and ball handling terribly and he has failed miserably at both. McMahon's best friend will and has to be the portal and has to nail a recruiting class.

I think the problem is (just a guess) that he promised all 3 guys he brought from Murray st that they would get major minutes with him at LSU. The problem is only Williams and maybe Hannibal are worthy of those minutes.

Do people forget that LSU still has NCAA penalties coming?
I don’t think they are going to be that bad but they do exist and some players are going to hesitate until the final punishment is handed out.
