that's not "throwing under the bus"

that not even criticism. that's general observations.

public criticism does not necessarily equal "throwing under the bus". Throwing under the bus is to name, or all but name (e.g. Kickers, meaning all of them), and then blame losses on them or tell them they aren't capable.

If they aren't capable, you're culpable as a HC... you either didn't develop them, or even worse you evaluated them and gave them a scholarship. Or both.

I'm tired of every mention by a HC of a player being called "throwing under the bus". That's not to say it's not happening, but every god damn instance of public criticism is not that.

ETA: for the record, I absolutely hated those statements by Miles. We left so much on the table, underutilized so many, rarely were opportunistic, and didn't objectively self-scout and give players the best chance of success on every play. We never exploited weaknesses and at the same time the only solution applied to fixing/masking our own was "execute better". But it's still not throwing under the bus... just wrong in principle.
