But I will say the USCe loss at home, even without DJ, was crushing. There is no way we should have lost, let alone look absolutely listless being down 25 points at halftime.

That's not what you did. The guy simply said he hopes the team can be competitive and keep it close, given the opponent. That is a reasonable expectation.
