How long after the loss today is the announcement made that McMahon has been canned? I’m thinking within a week .

Hopefully it’s today just so we can stop the nonsense of allowing back a guy that has been in the basement for 3/4 years.

I could see next week though to not have the distraction for our general

A dark cloud of being the worst program in SEC over past half decade. A program in shambles due to ineptitude of the previous coach. You can’t expect anyone to come in and win with a complete roster overhaul and a dark cloud hovering.

If LSU loses today there is no reason it shouldn't be announced tomorrow. Let the team fly back later today and then call him tomorrow morning to lower the BOOM on him

Yes McMahon needs to go but Verge backtracked on this statement a few weeks later in an interview with Jacques Doucet. Who knows what’s about to happen.

The “McINSERT WORD”-isms have gotten a little overplayed. But this one made me chuckle.

Meh there's no need to clown him on the way out. I got nothing against him like I did when we fired BK. He's been around long enough to know it's coming when you put up the results he has

Correct.

Woodward wasn't going into fire BK the day after the A&M. However, because BK is a horse's arse tempers flared and that was the ultimate result.

McMahon, for as bad as the results have been on the court, hasn't done anything to personally offend or disrespect LSU. That's why you treat him as a professional, even when making a change. There is no need and nothing to really be gained by satisfying some "blood lust" of a few members of the fanbase.

What are the odds Verge pulls the trigger ? Looks like 50-50 to me. If LSU doesn't commit more funds to NIL, don't think it will matter.

With the right coach, this won't be an issue. The current coach does not inspire donors. If it is Will Wade (or anyone who shows signs of life), then the money will flow.

Let's dispel these dumb arguments now.

"LSU" doesn't commit NIL funds. "LSU" only commit's its set % of revenue sharing...which will be the same regardless of the coach. The NIL funds come from donors. The head coach is the head fundraiser. You want more money? Go shake the tree. McMahon hasn't because he doesn't like doing it.

don't think it will matter.

Since we all love to believe reports of the amount of NIL funding anyone has, all reports are LSU's opponent today, Kentucky, has the highest funded roster of any team in the country (reports of $20M+). How much "did it matter"? It got them a 9th place finish in the SEC.

COACHING MATTERS!

EVERYTHING else flows from that. Wins, funding, recruiting, etc. Nail step 1, then the rest falls in line. Miss on step one then, at best, you get Johnny Jones. Or maybe more appropriately, Mark Pope. On that note, if you are in Nashville today ask UK fans what they think of Pope. They would be happy to trade him to LSU for a few new basketballs.

Yep, if we hire the right coach that is either Will Wade or some one like him money and NIL will flow. Wade and others know you have to work boosters and shake some hands.

MM is absolutely terrible and boring at that and it’s translated to the court. No one is excited by him or really ever was if they are honest.

His introduction press conference you could see he wasn’t going to work here.

uh LSU had a top 20-25 payroll for basketball this year in the country. The money is there for an actual head coach to succeed here.

We for sure invested enough that finishing last place should never happen.

Even without our starting pg we should have been able to take South Carolina and state at home, along with Oklahoma.

Then we get into the blown leads of AGGY, UGA and Kentucky.

A good coach gets this team injuries and all to .500 which probably gets them in the tourny.
