If they had played the entire game it would have been really close

Think it’s time to let this one go man.

Was rooting for him, but at some point you have to change things up.

I wonder if Texas Tech fans jumped ship when they lost to Purdue by 30 a couple weeks ago

Terrific comparison.

Purdue was #1 in the county and Texas Tech made the Elite Eight last year.

Right in line with our loss yesterday when LSU was higher ranked in NET and Kenpom than Texas Tech, and of course we all remember LSU’s NCAAT run last season.

It’s exactly the same.

But Purdue just lost by 20 to Iowa State.

They must suck too

In his first two seasons at Texas Tech Grant McCasland was 51-20, with two NCAA appearances. Including a run to the Elite 8 last season. The blowout loss to Purdue was an outlier in his Texas Tech career thus far. With his career performance he has earned the benefit of the doubt that the bad loss to Purdue was a rare blip.

On the other hand, McMahon (prior to this season) had a sub .500 overall winning %; A .260 SEC winning %, and a sub .300 winning % vs major conference programs. So yesterday's loss to Texas Tech wasn't an outlier. It was the norm. That's why fans aren't giving him the benefit of the doubt that yesterday was an anomaly.

This isn't a particularly complicated rationale to understand. Fans (well at least rational fans) don't believe McMahon can win at LSU against high level competition...because the numbers show he CAN'T with any consistency. In (now) 4 seasons he's won less than 30% of his games against major conf. opponents like Texas Tech

Yea the way Woodward dealt with the Will Wade situation was sufficient reason to run him off. Scott W should have been gone years ago. I think we tolerated him too long just because of the abuses of the AD we had before him.

Unfortunately Coach tPear is like my girl-- gone, gone, gone.

The mental gymnastics you do to defend this LOSER is stunning.

You really lack logical comparison skills.

We all know teams lose games and MBB is volatile, but the desperation to reach and compare LSU to Purdue and Tech trying to make a point is grade school level.

Why don’t you do some transitive property analysis of some games next.

Been watching McMahon teams going on 5 years now. Still have no clue what his basketball philosophy is or if he has one ? The program has no definitive identity, no style of play, nothing to point to in McMahon teams that we can count on. It's just "recruit whoever we can get here and throw em out on the court," type management.

He gets players in the portal from schools that rarely make the tourney. But, we are told that his new roster is better than before. Truthfully, we just continue playing mid-major basketball at best!

If we want to compete in the SEC, then it’s time to hire a real coach.
