We can’t run the ball as evidenced by the games. We can’t run screens because BK says we can’t (“take away my screen card”). RPO’s are out. Same with zone read.

What about jet sweeps? Have we run any of those? At least get the linebackers moving.

Nuss can’t run like JD did, but he can certainly pick up a first down here or there. LSU has to find a way to keep defenders in the box to open up passing lanes. Nuss picking up some yardage on a scramble can do that, at least to a degree.

That still requires the OL to get to the second level and seal the edge.

Have we tried any kind of misdirection or counters?

Its not THE answer but it is something he has to do to help out the run game.

I don't know why people don't see this as the case most of the time in so many areas. There is rarely THE thing to fix any issues. It is always pieces that build to the fix or improvement.

BS

If he doesn't run we are totally screwed as well. It is there for the taking. Just take the 10 or 15 yards they are begging him to take, and get down. Don't try to put a hit on someone like he did the other night.

I mean its not the whole answer, but its 100% better than not running right now.

No secondary is afraid of him breaking the line so they just all comfortably fall back into coverage and Nuss tries to thread needles anyway.

If he would be willing to run 3-5 times a game guarantee just the threat of that would change the way teams defend our run game and the coverages we would see in the passing game. He will never be Daniels but there is no reason that he could not pick up a few first downs and get 25-30 yards a game.

Honestly, a new wrinkle could be option to the left side (per the stats in the earlier post).
