Geriatric, obese, or indolent weaklings who can't stand on key defensive downs in a close game shouldn't enter the stadium in the first instance.

Now, if there is an ancient man/woman behind me, a pregnant woman, or someone who is obviously crippled, of course I'll do my best to minimize the downs on which I stand. Nonetheless, I will be standing and screaming on key defensive downs.

Thankfully, this isn't typically an issue in the section of the SEZ where I usually reside.

Tiger Stadium is being tranformed from a fearsome den of zealots into a some sort of pathetic nursing home mixer. Fans come late, can't stand, don't make noise, gripe perpetually during the game, and leave early to "beat traffic."

everyone needs to get along and focus all the hate on the fricking clown in the south ez that kept trying to start the wave. that guy is the real enemy here not the ones that stand or sit.

Nearly everyone below me was standing, I agree that standing the entire game is not necessary. Big plays, 3rd & 4th downs and all the usuals of course. I think I am pretty respectful during games, but I get pumped for the Tigers! FWIW I did sit after the rows in front started sitting.

Not what you posted in OP.
You stated that "After a long day of tailgating, you will ALWAYS find me standing in SEC 305.

I sat in 305 and only stood when the people in front blocked my view, which wasn't often. My question is, do you really see any better standing vs. sitting? I mean why stand unless you have to, reliving bench warmer days or something?

people are getting more lazy by the day.

ETA: The only time I sit is half time and long arse tv timeouts ( if we are winning by alot). Then when we play again I stand.

you're an idiot. Why do you think they call it a "seat". The people who design stadiums design them for 92,000 to have a place to SIT!!! Since you are only thinking about yourself, I'll enlighten you. Many older people have trouble standing up for 3 hours or 5 minutes. Maybe bad hips, knee, foot...whatever!!! They pay good money to go to the game also. I'm glad you know people who have gotten kicked out. They deserve it. Have a nice day !!

Having spirit is great while close downs or tight games on key plays is typical /understandable, but standing all game is selfish and inconsiderate of others

Unless you're in the student section, or in one of those awful field seats, that's just silly.

I completely agree with this strategy. I'm proud of my arse but I'm not gonna stick it someone's face the entire game.

I stand at the games, at the bar, at the house whenever I watch the Tigers play.

Deal with it.

I stand at games and sit on the time outs, breaks and or halftime. TS did not get it reputation by sitting on our arses and being observers of a sporting event. My girlfriend's first game was Florida 07 at TS and she said it was so exciting that she forgot she stood the whole time. She went to football games at Cincinnati and they never stood or came back in the last 90's. If someone is elderly or obviously can not stand then be courteous otherwise rock the house !

Perhaps. It's never had the tradition of everyone in the stadium standing on every play, though. If you think it has, you don't really know anything.
