1240 on the SAT (yep).

Serious though. If a walk-on freshman QB sees the field...LSU is in trouble.

Hes a walk on that that led his high school team to a district championship and threw 15 touchdowns. Apparently had a 4+ GPA.

Really? Burrow was one notch above a walk on at Ohio State and he was as I remember was a decent QB. No he's not the answer but I have seen guys who were barely recruited by anyone turn out to be damm good.

Burrow was named Mr. Football in Ohio in a season where he passed for 63 TDs and just two interceptions. Not exactly the same.

If Nussmeier is taking snaps this year, we're in trouble. Just like when we had to rely on a Freshman last season. You just have to have a tremendous supporting cast to have success if you're starting a true freshman. I'm trying to remember the last freshman QB to lead his team to a national championship as QB1 starting with the 1st game of the season in the SEC. Rex Grossman? But he was a RS Freshman so he was at UF for 1 year prior to starting.

How about Trask at Florida. What were his accomplishments prior to enrolling at Florida.

This annoys me. One guy did it so everyone that had that exact same situation will do it. Similar to every sub 6 foot QB can work because Drew Brees and Russell Wilson work. There are always outliers of course but there is a reason prototypes exist.

If course I don't think O'Dowd is Joe Burrow. However Burrow wasn't even offered a scholarship at lowly Nebraska even though he wanted to go there. Yes he was Mr football but had very few if any big time offers.

Point is kids change and some if given a chance blossom into much more than anyone thought they would. I give you Ladamion Thompson. Coming out of high school he had one decent offer, TAU. We all know the rest of the story.

Hope we don't have to count on a walk on but glad he's here.

O'Dowd Junior Year Highlights
His junior year highlights at Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, FL. His high school only played two games his senior year. Odd throwing motion/angle reminds me a little of Rivers. I hope we blow out someone enough he gets to make a handoff or two, though it's unlikely he sees the field.

Interview with Recruiting News Guru
Recruiting News Guru called him a 3* QB. O'Dowd says he had interest from ULL, Indiana, Pitt, Rutgers and Ivy League schools.
