He still deserves credit for the 18 and 19 seasons. It’s not like they just didn’t happen.

And O recruited him to LSU.
O gets credit for one realizing out other QBs weren’t good enough and that Burrow was immediate help and we needed him.
That’s one if the few big decisions that he made.

Busch and the receiving corps talent at LSU were much bigger factors than Ed.
And Burrow surfaced late and Cincinnati was the only other serious suitor.
Ed is a very good recruiter, but Burrow almost fell into his hands.

Plus, Nebraska was the presumed favorite when Joe announced his transfer. We dodged a bullet when Frost wasn't interested.

Joe wasn’t the only beast on that team but 5-5 put him in a must win season and he just got bullied by a middle of the road pac 12 team
He simply had to win this year. Not a title or a conference. Hell not even the division
Just win some games and restore some energy and faith in the program.
Now we’re looking down the barrel at likely going into the A&M game to determine 8-4 or 7-5
The national perception is that A&M has lapped us. Starting to feel like reality and you simply can’t let Ed run the program into the 90s

Idk about lucked up. He went out and got burrow. Lets not act like we didnt have more than a dozen nfl draft picks on that team also with alot of first rounders too. Burrow was a huge part of that team, but O assembled the most talented team ive ever seen top to bottom. That doesnt mean he can go shite the bed now that he accomplished what he did in 2019. His job is d3finitely on the line the rest of this season.
