Guarantee you there will still be people that say they are playing “street ball” anytime the offense struggles for any stretch.
There are people that say it after watching LSU run an obvious set play.
Exactly. Also basketball is a very free flowing sport. You can run plays and sets but a lot of it happens organically. It’s not like football where everything is predicted on something or everyone has to be at a certain spot at a certain time.

Go back and watch the Michigan, Michigan State games again.
Do you mean the games where both teams scored at least 80 points? LSU put up the 2nd highest point total Michigan allowed all of last season....and lost. Was it because LSU had no "offensive system"? Or was it maybe because despite scoring against a very good defensive team, LSU's lack of defense allow Michigan to shoot 54% (40% from 3) and make 10 three pointers. LSU allowed both Michigan and Michigan St to have their highest scoring outputs of the tournaments.
This year the offense was bad and LSU's downfall. But in the years prior LSU could (and did) score with anyone. 3 straight seasons in the top 15 in points per game (Top 6 in 2020 and 2021). It was LSU's horrible defense that let them down.
Perhaps the offense between 2019-2021 wasn't "aesthetically pleasing" to you. But the FACT is there were only a handful of teams who scored more and more efficiently than those LSU teams.

It was never street ball. Will Wade coaches and NBA style of offense. Most colleges have offenses designed to get guys open shots. Wade's system is designed to get his best scorers a mismatch in whatever areas of the court the feel comfortable in. That's why when we had guys with NBA skill sets or offense flourished. This year we had 0 players with an NBA skill set because Adam Miller got hurt. Eason was our leading scorer and he's going to be a 3 and D player in the NBA. He's hardly going to be asked to create his own shot. Naz Reid, Trendon Watford, Skylar Mays, and Cam Thomas have all shown they have the ability to create a bucket against NBA competition. There wasn't a single player on this year's team that you could envision scoring 20+ off the bench as a rookie. His system may not have been the best for a college team. Especially one that isn't perennially in the running for the top high school scorers every year. But, it's far from "street ball"

Jwill and qb just in this thread qualify.

Says the guy that says Wade was a horrible offensive coach. Oooooof

We had very little, continuity on offense. Some movement. Not many hard cuts.
Double high post.
Problem for LSU is all of the SEC teams knew we could not hurt them from Three.
They packed it in. And made it difficult to finish at the basket
Our guards were very poor decision makers. We took much harder shots than most of our opponents

Have to credit wade or whoever handled the defense. The defensive effort was far better in 2021/22.

Maybe Rutiger shouldn’t bring up the word education, given the poor grammar and syntax of his/her post!

Even this New guy will want to put athletes and scorers in space.
Defense wise… could very well speed up the game. And run off of missed shots and turnovers.
Although our current team never demonstrated that they could fill lanes and make a 3 on 2 break get an easy basket.
We took it one on 1 or. 2 or 3 and tried to make a play.

Not sure how you figure. I can teach you a lot about the game. I don’t speak much about Football, but basketball I’ve lived and breathed since I was a kid, and I’ve help develop several division 1 and future NBA level players, so.
Don’t take my word for it, watch how the program is built now. You’ll be forgetting all about WW here in the next 8 months assuming we aren’t slammed with probation.

It's like some of you have never watched a Will Wade offense.
Ball movement and motion isn't how most would describe a WW offense.

I certainly would not. Maybe they and I were watching two different teams, I did not watch anywhere near as much LSU basketball as some on here, but I don't remember a tremendous amount of motion or ball movement through the years.
