Nice. Great deal for Matt. Best of luck to him. I'm sure he will continue to make us proud.

This tells me there's more to the Peyton to 49ers and Smith to Miami thing than I originally thought. Or at least that Miami felt good enough about their chances that they weren't willing to offer Flynn what he wanted.

I was expecting something closer to 4 years for $40m.

3 year deal for 26 million! Sweet. If things go his way, in 3 years he can pick his team and name his price. If not, he will have been in the league for 5 years or more and can get his retirement and live off the 26 million. Win, win situation.

And that contract is really cheap compared to Kolbs last year This is puzzling

Not really surprising at all. Kolb had played a shite ton more NFL football than Flynn. Dude has only started 2 games. I think 26 million is pretty fricking fantastic considering.

Good for him. He's a winner, an Carroll knows it.
I'm sure he'll do well.

Kolb only started 7 games. That's not even half of a season.

Miami fans have to be pumped. No to free agents Manning, and Flynn. But let's give up something in a trade for Alex Smith. I'd fricking choke the shite out of that GM if I was a Fin fan.

You sure? Seems like a lot more than that. Regardless, that's 3.5 x more than Flynn.

You're kidding.....right? Kolb had all of 7 NFL starts before he got a 5 year $63 million deal. And the only reason he got those starts was because McNab or Vick was injured. He had thrown 187 passes more than Flynn had after each had been in the league for 4 years. Hardly a shite ton.

Actually, Smith is a free agent and there wouldn't be any compensation. And Smith is probably a better (and less risky) option than Flynn. But that doesn't mean we still don't want to choke the shite out of the GM. Personally, I'd rather see the douche bag, NYC-based owner lynched and hung from a fricking palm tree first.
