He would not start for Washington and this is coming from a diehard Skins fan who does not think Campbell is the answer.

Flynn won a NC something Tom Brady and Manning have never done. That alone makes him better than those two washed up players.

I see a whole lot of hate for Matt Flynn.

What, wasn't the 2007 BCS Championship good enough?

I'm glad Flynn is doing good. Why would any LSU fan say he sucks? Clearly if he sucked he wouldn't be in the league in any capacity.

He worked his arse off to get where he is.

Maybe some people are jealous of his work ethic or his $450k+ annual salary?

Dont take the "hate" to seriously. Most guys on here don't have a problem with MF. Its the guys that come on the rant and say MF could be starting in front of .... whoever, drop in your favorite distressed QB.

Its just a little retarded to say that Matt Flynn is better than Delhomme or Collins when both of those guys have led teams to Super Bowls and Matt Flynn has thrown 5 passes in the NFL. There are placekickers in the league who have thrown more passes than MF.

We aren't saying he can't do it possibly one day, but that the MF nut sack guys need to lay off the ridiculousness for now and let the guy develop himself and get his chances first.

If Flynn were in, say, Carolina, for example, he'd definitely be pushing Delhomme for his starting spot... I think he'd also give Leftwich a run for the starting role in TB as well. Denver, Tennessee, Cleveland, Miami, Washington, and Buffalo are some other teams that come to mind that Flynn could possibly start for.

Or Oakland. Jeff Garcia is a good QB, but he's up-in-age and won't be around too much longer.

it is rare for an entire NFL season to go by without the starting QB missing a few series or a few games.

Im sure Flynn will see some action this season. It might not be alot at all - but I think he has a good future in the NFL. I see his career unfolding alot like Delhomme. A few years as a back up at Green Bay, then somehow getting a shot somewhere.

Does anyone here understand the phrase "could possibly start for"?

It appears that most of the posters here just read only what they want, in this case the thread title, and then come on board with the hyper criticism to make themselves feel cool.

I bet when guys like you assigned novels in high school, "Catcher In The Rye" that must have really confused you huh? I mean if you only read the title that is.

Read the entire post--no wait, let me correct myself.

Read and comprehend the entire post before you start chirping.

And yeah, Matt Flynn coould push the afore mentioned QB's for their starting jobs.

So you think Garcia is the starter in Oakland?

The only thing that hurts him is that he backs up a really good, young QB in Aaron Rogers.

give flynn 4 years as a backup to farve and see where he ends up -- starter

people forget that aaron rodgers had a much better college career than flynn, has more talent, is smarter, and is just better

so to say if flynn was in rodgers shoes, he'd follow the same path is dumb, imo

this thread is full of dumb

very comparable

flynn
yr 2007 - comp 202 - att 359 - yrds 2407 - comp% 56.3 - ypa 6.71 - lng 71 - td 21 - int 11 - sack 26 - rate 125.76

rodgers
yr 2004 - comp 209 - att 316 - yrds 2566 - comp% 66.1 - ypa 8.12 - lng 80 - td 24 - int 8 - sack 25 - rate 154.35

the attempts, completions, blah blah are similar

but rodgers has a pretty big edge in the two biggest categories, completion % and pass rating...not to mention having 3 less picks in almost 40 less attempts

PAC 10 > SEC in your opinion?
BCS title < no BCS title in your opinion?

not much of an arguement...but still makes my point of 4 years of learning behind farve (a first ballot HOF'er)

BCS title

Team effort.

Flynn almost screwed us with some of his shitty first half performances during the 2007 season. He was and is a good, but not great QB. He may surpass that in the NFL, but only time will tell right now. GL to him.
