I think his resume of being a “gypsy” and having a reputation of not always getting along hurts his efforts of being at a higher profile school. His record at LSU as OC wasn’t exactly stellar. Glad he is gone.

Canada was shown the door. He was asked to leave. They "terminated" his contract. He was "terminated". Terminated=Fired. Fired is the informal, slang word for termination.

His contract was terminated.
By mutual agreement.
One party to the pre existing relationship paid the other 1.7 million.
The party being paid is required to pay or do nothing, except to not say anything bad about the paying party ( this was mutual).
You decide who had the leverage and who got the better part of the bargain, but I kind of like the side of the guy getting the better part of 2 mil cash.

Only a full blown retard would be stupid enough to fault a head coach for doing his job. As many times as Canada has been fired from jobs for the same exact damn thing of undermining the head coaches authority, one would think that he would eventually figure it out and stop doing it. Apparently, he can't help himself and just doesn't realize who he really works for.
If Canada wants to call all the shots, then he better learn to keep his mouth zipped so he can keep a damn job finally for longer than one of two years. Otherwise, no one will ever hire him to be a head coach. He has to show that he can be loyal.

If you want to look at it that way, go ahead! I don't care how you look at it or that LSU athletic is out of $1.7m. They are in the black for the season with Bama and UGA making it to the title game and hell, they saved a bunch by not paying over-inflated contracts to coaches like Jimbo.

I fault him for making an uneducated hire at OC and then lying to that OC to get him here. He hired Canada as a last minute big name when Kiffin turned him down. Then, per the O pumpers, he hired a guy who is difficult and produced a shitty offense. What part does O take the blame on?
