I respect your opinion Bbap, but you are nit picking the best player in the country right now, and it's not as if he is terrible at base running. He is an average base runner.

It didn't take a perfect throw to get him they had him dead to rights.

That is to say, he needed a poor throw to make it.

Bbap, do you have something against Katz? For some reason you thought his stats would be worse this season than last with your prediction of 8 homers.

Can anyone tell me if the OP's hyperbolic premise is supported by examples? Or is it merely a conclusory statement without any empirical support?

Katz tried to leg out a double last night when it was 9-0 and was out by a mile. Same game he turns a double into a triple in key moment of the game.

I think Katz got picked off twice in the Auburn series @ 1st.

I don't have anything against him and I didn't think he would produce the same numbers as last year either. I can't speak for bbap but my thinking was based on him being unlikely to duplicate what was thought to be a "career year".

No I made that prediction based on the fact most baseball players take a step back after a career year. It had nothing to do with Katz himself and I admitted that prediction was way off like a month ago.

I didn't think he would mimic last year. I thought he would hit around 10, but I also thought Ross and Jones would be near 10, but they haven't hit the ball at all the 1st half of the season. Maybe they are turning it around this weekend.

I recall Mikie Mahtook being a less than outstanding baserunner. Even the best of them have some part of the game to learn.

Semi high leg kick. Guess more his stride than stance.

I agree. I was watching a game with friends when Mikie singled and someone shouted, "keep running Mikie, Lord knows they're going to get you eventually at some base during the inning."

But he was very good at everything else.
