He dedicated more time to his rap career than his football career. BUST (compared to the recruiting hype).

You have to realize there are diffrent types of DT's. Space eaters and penatrators. The first makes tackles and fills holes (like Favorite/Woods) the second get into the backfield and get the sacks, etc. (like Dorsey/Nevis).

You need both. Favorite's numbers didn't live up to his hype as a recruit, but he was a starter and good player so I don't think you can lable him a bust.

Wow!! An undrafted player taking the starting DT spot would be very rare. If so, I would have to think he was slacking in college. I mean really slacking. Big money at UF was a slacker, but at least he got drafted. Booger took a lot of plays off, but also drafted. I don't know of another undrafted DT that became a starter. anyone?

Favorite

He played with the 1st team during morning practice, not in the afternoon practice.

The Panthers threw undrafted rookie Marlon Favorite in Kemoeatu's position in the morning practice. Second-year pro Nick Hayden, who filled in for an injured Kemoeatu last season when the New York Giants rushed for 301 yards in an overtime win, was there in the second workout.

Looks Carolina's Defense is going to take a step backwards.

Looks like the aints will have a chance to strike up the band after the carolina game. Gotta get an inside running game going with play action.

man i've been on this site a long time

i remember when the rant had anointed favorite the better DT over dorsey when they were recruits

Wouldn't it be ironic if Favorite ends up having a better NFL career than Dorsey? Dorsey was a disappointment in KC last year and came to camp this year overweight.

You two's definition of a "bust" is pretty poor. By your definition abut 75% of players are busts.

There's a difference in a guy like Xavier Carter being truly a bust in college as opposed to a guy who doesn't quite live up to the hype, but was a solid contributor like Favorite. You can't call Favorite a bust for how much he played and DID contribute.

I also heard he didn't pass the physical test because his knee is still giving him problems.
