Until we start recruiting better on the Oline and DLine, we will be just another college football team. All it takes is to get some lineman worth a shite and we'll be back to elite. We'll always have athletes, it's the big uglies that are killing us right now, and have been the last few years.

I'm not ashamed of melting. I'm an LSU fan and it's frustrating considering what is at our disposal. Talent, facilities, tradition, fan base etc.
LSU players deserve better.

He's a little late on that one... We've been a non-contender since 2013.

You act like we weren't ranked #2 - 8 weeks deep into '15 and top 5 heading into '16. Worse part is the talent was there and we squandered it. Now we have a mediocre coach and the recruiting will inevitably suffer.

Can I come back after the Florida Lost to see if you are singing the same Tune? Hell we might lose to Syracuse.

Thereneeds to be a clause in the LSU hiring process, that under no circumstances will LSU promote a current asst coach to full time head coach, on a permanent basis. This is simply a repeat of the whole Archer debacle. Say goodbye to meaningful LSU football for the next few years.

How? Not that I don't agree with you, I would just like to hear your take.

As it was pointed out earlier, they shouldn't have pulled for O.

Nope. I was always for hiring a competent proven HC first.

Unfortunately, this isn't a recent development. We've been to 1 major bowl game (BCS/New Years Six) since we won it all in 07, and we all know how that 1 turned out.

I was looking for you Saturday night
I don't normally post on the scoreboard, but occasionally after the game. Anyway, he looked great and you were right.

Les Miles was a grossly underachieving coach. It was shameful some of the games his teams lost. I am glad he is gone, but have thought that the so-called "I am the search" approach resulted in a disastrous hire. So far looks like I was correct. Now Miles had jacked up recruiting before Eaux got the job...so there's that as well...

yep. former players campaigned hard for coach o. this is what happens when you give in to public sentiment instead of hiring the best coach available. and i find it hard to believe there was no one available with a better resume than coach o.

A loss to Florida with Franks going for about 300 would be killer for this team. (FF looked pretty good against UT Saturday)

Of course.
It's hard to know when you don't even do an actual search.
Alleva didn't even look.

That's why he should be the first to go. He's done nothing in my opinion to warrant staying. Sure he hired Wade, and he's looking great, but the season hasn't even started yet.
