Holy shite this is the most AIDS infected thread in Rant history.

I called Spears out for his predictions being off base at the time as well but the outright disgusting posts in here about one of the all time great Tigers of all time is astonishing.

Some of you need to take a step away from the computer and grab a snickers or something my goodness.

I think the problem at hand is that Spears is so focussed on not being a homer, that he goes way too far in the other direction

Yep sure did. Good call.

They both need to just be themselves, and frick it. If it comes across as them being a homer, who gives a shite? Really? But don't sit there and always play the role of contrarian (not in LSU's favor).

Booger McFarland doesn't do that. I mean, he's honest in his criticism and/or praise of LSU, but doesn't feel the need to go so over the top with it.

but as an alumni maybe he just has higher expectations and a 9 win or non championship reason isn't good enough for him.

So Saban was an abject failure at LSU when he went 8-4, 8-5 and 9-3? Who knew. Good thing Miles rescues LSU in 2005 and went 11-3, notwithstanding Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. If Spears is a professional as he claims, he needs to act like one and start by staying off of Twitter and social media trying to look like an LSU hero. Spears doesn't define LSU and what is or isn't it's success.

What most of us on this board including myself was wrong. We didn’t think LSU would beat Auburn. Just like I don’t think they will beat Alabama, and Georgia. Sure hope we do though .

Right? Do you think Herbie goes home at night and cries to his wife because strangers on the Internet made fun of him for being a buckeye homer all day?

Just own it.

Spears is more loyal to the coach, Saban, than the college. It happens.

There was no reason for him to have LSU so far down in the SEC rankings after week 1..

It's fine if he wants to be professional, but he was going out of his way too much to not be biased.

Well fortunately for Saban in 2001 , 5-3 won the west because the SEC was not yet the juggernaut conference it is now..because of Nick Saban.

A lot of people seem to forget that at the turn of the century the SEC was basically Florida Tennessee and 10 other teams, and was probably the 3rd at best conference. However in that meh SEC , LSU had not sniffed a conference all decade.

The expectations have changed, Spears isn’t lying he’s just not doing a great job of conveying it.

How the hell do you know? He’s just like you and me. Wants LSU to win championships.

Honestly, I think Spears goes out of his way not to be a homer to build up credibility so people don't clown him like they do that mental midget Finebaum.

CEO and staff are busting their asses to win games on the field and in recruits homes.

He's supposed to be an elite recruiter. I think he should be able to sell a recruit on LSU regardless what Marcus Spears or fans on a message board say. All Orgeron has to say is "if they knew what they were taking about, they would be a head coach somewhere."

Could be but even in the Miles years he seemed hyper critical

Marcus Spears cares more about Saban than he does about LSU.

Marcus Spears doesn't own shite. He's just another talking head looking for attention, nothing more.

I don't fault him for it either but I won't take anything he says seriously. Obviously he's fallen way behind the LSU program if he didn't know that we were coming this year!

He definitely posts here.
