I just think what happened to him somehow bodes well for South Carolina.
That's possible. I think Missouri has a legitimately good team. They should be undefeated right now. And I was more impressed with their front four's speed when rushing the QB over any other SEC team I've seen. It should be entertaining. I will be surprised if aTm doesn't have a better game plan and JF plays like he did against LSU though.

You guys do realize that draft stock is fictional until the actual draft. I will never understand how any of you believe it when kiper says something like "he fell down the draft boards at the last minute." Uhhhh no, kiper. Your projections were wrong

his draft status got a big hit too
So why isn't anyone talking about Mariota's draft stock after two substantial losses?

this. the day one game determines your draft status is the day the nfl turns stupid.

Lost some heisman stockk not draft stock
The fact that any team thought of taking him in the first is sad, top 5 is tragic.

If there is one thing that is certain, JFF is lights years better than Tebow as an NFL prospect. I'd take JFF over Tebow (during his UF career) all day everyday.
If Tebow can go in the 1st despite being an awful prospect, so can Johnny, who is 1. more elusive, 2. better arm strength, 3. more accurate, 4. doesn't have an awful throwing motion, 5. IMO is a bigger name than Tebow (it's close but 5 is JMO)

What did yesterday's game tell us about him that we didn't already know? He hasn't really been a first round talent from what I've read. Second round at the earliest, most likely third. That hasn't changed.
How his game will translate to the NFL is a big mystery to me. Boom or bust in my eyes, but he will put butts in the seats. Jacksonville should take a chance on him.

Not just on the field. His Heisman hopes are gone and his draft status got a big hit too. /

I really don't think his draft stock was damaged by that game at all. The same teams that were interested are still. He's not for everyone. LSU executed their game plan very well. Manziel can usually break that down and just because he was unable to do so once in 15 games won't affect people's opinions of him.
Everyone is looking for a reason to take him off the Heisman ballot, but the fact is, he's one of the best players in the nation. His performance was certainly not as damaging as Petty or Marriotta's so I'd say he's still in the top 4 honestly.
It's Winston's to lose. I think McCaron ends up 2nd if they beat Auburn and Mizz/SC.

He really should play another year...
I think another year and his stock goes further down. He can chalk it up to one or two games right now.
Fact is he is a very elusive QB with a slightly above average (at best) arm. With a quick, disciplined D he can be seriously neutralized and then the rest of A&M is not good enough to make up for it.
With him gone next year will be very ugly for A&M...

The Iggles and Chip Kelley are ecstatic about Sat. Manziel will declare and look for Philly to do whatever it can to draft him. Sat means they won't have to trade up that far -- if at all. The question is whether JFF can stay healthy in that system. If he can, the Iggles could be veddy, veddy danjrous.

quote:JFF is terribly inaccurate and has a terrible throwing motion. He is going to be a disaster in the NFL unless he can some how figure out how to not throw the ball up for grabs. He has all the makings of the 2nd coming of Tim Tebow. He is a great, great college QB. But, he is going to struggle mightily in the NFL.

he has Fran Tarkenton (sp) written all over him.

With his D there a lot of times he needs to just "throw it up for grabs", and he usually does it with a ton of accuracy. If he had a team with a D and a running game he wouldn't have to make those risky throws and would be super accurate. He will be great in the NFL!

No. Don't want to play him again.

He basically plays every game the way Mett played the first half at Ole Miss. He makes terrible decisions with the ball and, for the most part, only looks at one WR on most plays.

He's gonna land with a team in the NFL. Have some great games, some terrible games, and some success in year 1. Then, teams are going to figure out his tendencies and his career will be over within 3-5 years.

....and yet he still is top 10 in all of CFB in % of passes completed, his completion % is even higher than Alabamas game manager. In A LOT of games like the Bama and Auburn games he did have to attempt those passes. Against LSU not so much, but in other games he absolutely had to do it.
