This appears to be the case here. Apparently Mr. Keith dropped his can of dip. Got out of tube to grab it. Went under water for nearly 2 min while doing so. They attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful.

Just awful awful news. My heart breaks for this family. Sending many thoughts and prayers their way.

what has always struck me when watching ma’khail on the mound is his level of composure and calm, no matter the situation or how he was performing. Some component of that is certainly his personality but you’d have to think his parents also played a role in that demeanor and how he was nurtured. Prayers for that family and that Ma’khail has strong vivid memories of his father for the rest of his life to lean on.

The river is not at pool stage and muddy. They should probably not allow tubing when conditions could be dangerous. That whole site is a quagmire of financial disarray and not run appropriately

How many people are they gonna let die via Tiki Tubing before it gets shut down?

This is so incredibly sad. I know Ma’Khail had to be torn up.

Horrible. If only they had read the reviews about Tiki Tubing. They NEVER would have gone there

If you are from Central you know the risk of tubing the Amite. Had a schoolmate die in that river back in 90s. This is a tragic event.

I've never tubed the Amite, I always go to Bogalusa and tube Bogue Chitto. Getting drunk tubing the Amite always seemed like a risk I didn't want to take.

They just had a news segment about how the sheriff out there dreads tubing season because of all the calls they get for rescues

Between drinking and people missing the pull out point it’s a hazard that tiki doesn’t care about
How they haven’t been sued is amazing

That waiver you have to sign is a full page of BS aka signing away all liability on their part.
