We’ve fallen behind other SEC fans for in game support. I sit on the west side so I see this plainly: Way too many ticket holders in Tiger Stadium lower east side either no show or arrive late. This is behind the opposing team’s bench and should be packed with rabid fans. If they show, a large % leave early. Perhaps an app where LSU Athletics could give bottom section ticket holders post kickoff notice that if they don’t show then a text will be sent to upper deck ticket holders granting them permission to take the bottom section vacant seats. Also since your ticket gets scanned, LSU Athletics knows who is not using the tickets. Perhaps LSU Athletics can also set some sort of penalty for non use that increases the cost of renewal for the following season. This would weed out those who no show habitually or don’t even give the tickets to someone who would go if the ticket holder cannot.

LSU doesn’t care if you don’t show up, they care if the tickets were purchased. Habitual no shows could easily mean many things. The seats could be owned by a broker, they could be owned by a suite holder.

That’s why the penalty I suggest would give incentive to use the ticket. I also think LSU Athletics at least recognizes that having a packed stadium helps sell the program to recruits and helps win games.

The program sells itself. LSU falsely recognizes the Alex Box leading the nation in attendance. They aren’t going to penalize someone for what they do with their purchase.

Am I the only one that thinks it is ok that you have to earn great atmospheres in Tiger Stadium?

Great places like South Carolina and A&M pack the stadium even when the team sucks. They also have never won anything of significance. I am ok that in order for the athletic department to get those electric atmospheres they have to continue to put a quality product on the field. Forget the lights or whatever else you guys think would make the atmosphere better (which I’m all for) there is still nothing like LSU playing for something of importance late in the season to get the fans in the stadium and get them loud.

Tiger Stadium next week against Alabama will be peak atmosphere and it all has to do with the team and nothing else.

Just have to cut all of the extra crap and the organic excitement will start back up again. We’re not the preeminent college football venue because we have piped in music, video, fabulous concessions and announce incessantly.

We seem to now be trying to chase the goofball (piped in music, light shows…) stuff that others are using to keep up with us. It’s a bit insane.

Lol then why would anyone ever pay for sideline seats? It’s funny that someone from the west side would call out empty seats.

I wish they would reverse the camera angles to come towards the west side. It would look worse on Tv.

Make tiger stadium great again ? Stop with the piped in music !!!! Let the band play !!!! Also lock the door to the Public announcer before he arrives. I gave up my season tickets in the south end zone because of the constant announcements. It never ends with the ads. It almost drove me insane. SHUT THAT GUY UP !!!!

Perhaps we should boycott the companies that advertise in live games

frick all that.

If I bought a ticket, I have the right to show up when I want and leave when I want. That’s part of it.

That being said…I personally show up an hour before the games and don’t leave until the alma mater is sung (by the players).

Woah woah woah. Let me stop you right there mister. This isn’t an East or West problem.
We complain about y’all not showing up every game too. “Western sideline is full of corporate types who only show up to big games or for an undefeated team.” Is what the folks around me say ALL THE TIME.

A lot of the folks on the eastern side badly want to be on the western side but have been kept out of the seats for years.

I believe South Carolina penalizes students that get tickets but fail to show by restricting future ticket availability.

First- Traffic. A few years ago LSU paid millions to a traffic consultant to improve flow, it was a failure. There is no reason flow out can be better. Doesn't take a genius to turn all roads out into one way for an hour after a game.

Second-I've been going to games more than 50 years. For a long time could park free in front of the Vet school, now its $50. Come on man!!!

Winning- Be in the hunt for a NC and the stadium will be full. Look at 2019. 6-6 doesn't cut it. I am not a fair weather fan but to spend the $ to come in person and watch a losing team is not attractive.

Promotion- the PA announcer and constant music is aggravating. I know it's the age of social media but again, come on man. Less noise, more information.

Self Promotion- Yes it's important to recognize successful Tigers in all areas but Herbie in the 3rd grade winning an attendance ribbon is a bit much. Let's keep it to Football. Put them and their story in that game day program.

Rant over, Geaux Tigers!

Issue tickets for 10.00 to any unused seats 5:00 minutes after kickoff
That’s crazy! You say
You train you’re clients on what is and isn’t acceptable
Season ticket holders will adjust very quickly to be through the turnstiles well before the game or lose them to high schoolers who will have a blast
That’s how I went to games in the 70s on $5 youth tickets
It can be done and the rest of college football will follow suit

If there is a reason to be late you just scan you’re ticket and text it to the ticket office to hold your seat

There are many reasons why seats are empty. I for one know of a season ticket holder (2 seats) who has been unable to go to any home games this season because he has been undergoing radiation treatment. He's been too weak to sit in the stands for four hours in the heat. Perhaps if they had been night games, he might have gone, but Tiger fans have been punished with day games too many times. Most of the games against creampuffs are impossible/not worth the time or effort to sell, especially if you're battling cancer.

So worry about your own fandom, not what other folks may be doing.

Are they worried?
The question is how to make the stadium gain attendance -
So give a suggestion
