Just read that too man. I am really feeling good about things right now. I don't know if it is just excitement about the season about to start or what, but I think we will definitely be improved this year.

I just think people completely looked over how far the team fell in 2008. 2009 was a nice rebound from a bad year. Now its time to make the next step. I'm very excited.

Come on, Auburn? To the SEC media members that ranked the Tigers second best in the West, we ask which of the following made you feel comfortable with that pick:

(I) How quickly they folded down the stretch last year due to a roster thinner than Calista Flockhart?

(II) That their defense is even thinner this year?

(III) How great their stud QB Cameron Newton looks walking off the bus, even though the last SEC pass he threw was a laptop out of a window? Or

(IV) much like Big Bird, you’re standing up for the letter Z (Chizik, Malzahn). Auburn certainly has a depth chart that’s impressive at the top (the Tigers could have as many as ten players drafted come April), but it’s woefully thin once again – particularly on defense, and therein, the secondary.

Regardless, before we shoot off and rank a team second best in the hyper-competitive SEC West, is it too much to ask that its QB has actually started a conference game? Especially a team so reliant on offense – and timing.

I don't know if anyone has realized it yet, but these "blogs" are written by homers of SEC schools. That's why there is such a huge difference in opinions among the various writers.

Spot on analysis re teams putting 8 men in the box last season. If LSU can muster a decent pass attack this season, they can contend in the West. If not, could be a loooong season.

For those who don't know them well- CFN is usually VERY accurate involving LSU. I remember that they called the LSU-OU matchup halfway through the '03 season.

CFN includes a lot more than it used to. A few years ago it was just a few national writers, and so it was more accurate to say "CFN hates/likes a team." Now the site also includes articles from a bunch of different local writers.

They had a decent pass attack last yr.

It's-----

RUCHING ATTACK---RUSHING ATTACK---RUSHING ATTACK

I'm telling you- LSU holds the key to the West more than any other team.

I posted this earlier about a similar optimistic post regarding LSU, but didn't get any love.

I suppose everyone who works for them has their own opinion. Someone said it earlier, but CFN is usually about as spot on as you'll find, especially regarding LSU.
