Here’s a direct quote.

“He struggled today and cost us the game there at the end.”

my point exactly
he did not say "he cost use the game" as the op said
op said it was an exact quote by using quotation marks and that is not what he said

Tell me what he says at 4:48

he said "and it cost us the game at the end." As in, the top of the 10th inning cost us the game at the end because that's exactly what happened. He also prefaced that statement by saying that Fontenot "has done a good job for us for a long time but struggled today" and "it cost us the game at the end." He didn't blame the entire loss on Fontenot. If you listened to the entire interview, he talked about the 4 runs we gave away early with errors. He talked about hitting being great but that you can't win if you can't pitch and that we (the team) couldn't pitch yesterday. Said at the end of the day the only thing that matters is that we lost and that there aren't any moral victories.

“He struggled today and cost us the game at the end”

That would make you feel better?

Or

He...cost us the game at the end”

It changed absolutely nothing in context I am just trying to fit the phrase in the title. And like already posted, I posted the entire interview for others to listen to for themsleves

Do you not think it’s possible people see CPM as very negative and weak right now after losses

I know you do
quote:

but still think he is a good coach that shouldn’t be fired

that's not exactly the theme of this thread now is it?
quote:

You seem to have a very elitist attitude that anyone who sees his attitude in postgame interviews as someone who has no clue

I think there is a lot of faux outrage based on this interview, yes

then why did you post "he cost us the game" in quotation marks.
you are using words that were not a quote to serve your own perveted needs

Did I say you did? Did i say your comments alone represent the theme of this thread? No, I didn't. But what you will find is quite a few posts championing the idea of Mainieri being fired.

You said "do you think it's possible some....." The word "some" would indicate more than just yourself. SO if we are talking about the collective voices of this thread, then yes there has been a very prevalent theme and posts in this thread that Mainieri should be fired.

I’ll never forget a television interview PM
did his first season at LSU when he was losing a bunch of games. He told the interviewer “ These fans are great. They know we don’t have the players yet” Unbelievably cowardly. Basically threw the entire team under the bus. Can you imagine having been one of those players and heard your coach say that about your team.

I have heard that PM is like that towards players who are not his favorites.

Coaching Commandment #1: players win games, coaches lose them.

Coaching Commandment #2: See commandment #1

Dude doesn't get it. Skip would either light you up on the mound or behind closed doors. Not on the media.

What makes me nuts is listening to Pawl in a post or pre-game interview I never heard a man talk or sound like him he's overly apologetic sounding in his replies to any questions. The words he sometimes uses, but you get rid of him who do you get as a replacement? Thank God now it would be Scott making that call rather than Joe.
