If it was any other coach in the SEC, I would say the pitcher made a mistake.

Nothing wrong with backin a hot hitter off the plate by any means necessary. Any pitcher will tell you this.
It wouldn't be a problem if one of our pitchers did this to an opposing hitter as hot as Katz has been. It's baseball.

Going REALLY inside or pegging a guy in the lower back is sending a message
Going straight for his head is dangerous and the pitcher should be thrown out immediately
