You didn’t hear about what Alan Dunn was doing? He was slapping Fontenot because Fontenot hasn’t been the closer we have needed lately.

Instead of slapping the kid.....He should have been coaching. Wow this coaching staff is terrible.

He’d have never started this thread if it hadn’t been for Theriots rant. Theriots rant fired up the fans and OP looked for instances to shite on the coach afterward.

Let's talk about why the catcher position has been trash for two years.

Poor roster management/evaluation by Mainieri, Cannizaro, and Cain.

When Pap was here we kept recruiting JUCO guys to back him up. For the year after him, we brought in a HS guy that quit the team after fall practice to "prepare for the draft". He's now in his second year at JUCO and committed to Sunbelt also-ran Appalachian State.

The JUCO player was encouraged to sign with the pro team that drafted him because he wouldn't have a spot if he came back. Despite playing most of the year injured and showing some promise at the plate and behind it.

The staff decided that starting from scratch at a position that excels with experience was the best route to go. They felt that what was coming was better than what was here.

Good, informative post, JML.

I didn't know Fontenot went to the bullpen one minute (according to the time on the two tweets you posted) after Duplantis' homerun.

It appears my theory on what Mainieri was thinking when he went back to the dugout may have some merit....

Good point.

Are you too dumb to point out actual issues with the team/program so you have to settle for this?

This describes 90% of the post on the rant over the past few weeks. Then when you point out their stupidity you are labeled a CPM homer. Screw the fact that I hope CPM hangs it up after this season (although I don't expect him too. I do think the program is becoming stale under him). I'm never going to buy into him needing to be fired, or him "not caring," regardless of what happens the rest of this season.

so PM was coaching. Coaching and managing the players and sulking.

But mostly sulking.

It's absurd. They move to window of the conversation so far toward idiocy that reasonableness looks like blind homerism.

If by merit you mean 100% dead on
He didn’t go sulking back to the dugout he went to talk to his pitching coach about how to finish the game with a lead

But then again that doesn’t fit the OP’s narrative so the timing in the pics provided don’t prove anything

Trying to pull players back in the dugout who are celebrating. They didn’t listen and he went sulking back into the dugout.

Wtf is wrong with this guy. 3 run bomb to take the lead, he should be getting everyone fired up

This is so ridiculous! All you saw was him grab or gesture to someone, you didn't even see the gesture or hear what he said and you jump to this conclusion. Typical ranter post.

You actually just made it worse for PM. Instead of immediately doing what you claim he was doing, he's on camera going out to corral his players

Sending Fontenot out was just his second instinct, if that's what he even did, rather than Dunn doing it himself

And this right here sums up why it is pointless to have a conversation with someone who will see exactly what they want to see, regardless of anything else.

So he should have been oblivious to the actions of his team. He should have been so out of touch with the game that he allowed his team to incur a penalty of some sort.

Every time the fire PM crew gets going they shoot themselves in the foot. It is usually best to not pick a time where a 3 run home run has been hit to go ahead and ultimately win the game to critique. Just some friendly advice.

Let me get this straight; you think it was a bad thing for the HC to first, try and corral his players so we don’t get anyone ejected (and likely suspended during the auburn series) and then second, confer with the pitching coach as to how we want to handle the remaining 6 outs now that we’ve taken a 1 run lead (which all happened within a matter of minutes, mind you)?

3:15 pm: Duplantis hits a HR

3:16 pm: Fontenot goes to the bullpen

Yet in between, we SEE ON CAMERA, PM going out to corral ballplayers. Someone has already pointed out that he was hands on with 2 of them. Then suddenly he realizes he needs to be coaching, and he goes into the dugout to talk with Dunn. That's your theory?

And all that under a minute. LOL
