You've obviously never been to a baseball practice.

Ever see the practice video from Omaha a couple years ago? All PM did was shoot the shite with players waiting their turn for BP.

He shouldn't have admitted this and I'm not defending being late for practice, but that is really much ado about nothing.

Maybe you missed where I said I dont care what he does at practice.. If you are saying being there doesnt matter you have never played a sport on any level.

When I ran at LSU I talked to Coach Henry very few times. But I knew he was there.

If he's not doing much then why does it matter? In HS, I would have preferred the head coach not be there and just deal with my position coach.

Did Henry being there make you run faster? Or do you need to be coddled by the head man to feel good about yourself?

No with the head guy there you dont horse play. You are all business . So CPM is leaving half the team in the hands of a 28 year old.. Yea.. That will get things done.

If the CEO of my company walked in the room Im not going to be posting on TD.com.. See how it works.

I might have to go with Smoke....

yeah the late for practice doesn't bother me. The recruiting part is either a complete cop out or pretty lazy

a BP session before a game at the CWS(or just late in the season in general) is a little different than a practice during the week and especially one in the preseason

PM has like 3 coaches on staff. Javi is like 26 now and came to LSU with no prior coaching experience and Will Davis is probably 23 or 24. Scary

Yes

And im sure he was in contact with players, watched film, shite like that. He was just overly trusting in his assistants I guess. Looks like he's making necessary changes, which is really the only important thing right now.

Thats my point.. If the coach isnt there and the guys there in charge are as young as they are you are going to have more grab arse going on than getting to business.

If he had a hard arse in control and not the players best bud of a coach that would be different.

My company paid PM $5K to come and speak to a group of employees for about an hour.

I don't blame the guy for making extra money, but not at the expense of his program. Smells like Dinardo.

it is natural to relax after you have great success, but just like leslie, he has come to realize that he has to stay hands on in order to have the kind of success that we are used to and that he wants. he fell asleep at the wheel during our swoon this year, but he will come back harder next year and we will have a great team.

Maybe, but proven time and time again to be the downfall of many. I think we'll be fine, but it would of been nice to keep our cleets on the necks of our opponents while the iron was white hot.

Sounds to me that it will soon be time to hire a new coach. Rarely if ever can a coach lose a team and them bring them back to the same level.

in pro football, the general manager or jerry jones picks the players in the draft- not the head coach & they say how much they make

I've gone to many Fall and pre-season practices and Mainieri is very vocal. With only 50 or so spectators there you can hear him all over the grandstand when he yells out to a player who did something wrong (or right).

Your credibility went to zero with this post.

When Skip was here, he would only be out there half the time they were practicing. His assistants did just about everything. Obviously though, that model doesn't work for everyone.
