WHO? I don't remember him from the team.

Nothing was incorrect about what I said. I don't know why you linked an article. It was a report. And Astros didn't have that much to give him in the end.

LSU can offer any scholly money it has to an additional player who can enroll in January.
I'm almost positive they have to have been enrolled in the fall too. They changed the rules a few years back.

Does anyone know the rule, can we give the spot to someone else?

It wasn't "in the end" when he was offered that amount. It was during the draft when the Astros could move him to an earlier round if he had agreed to that amount. He didn't so he fell to the 21st round. And I linked the article to show he was offered almost $1 million during the draft process but turned it down just as I replied to the claim "he was never offered MLB money."

Then I'll amend my statement. He was never offered MLB money that he would actually get.

Michael Barash graduated from high school in December, 2012 and joined the team in January, 2013. He is the most recent player I can think of who joined the team in January but there have been other players who were not introduced in September but joined the team in January.
Was the rule changed since January of last year?

Broski provided a better link than the one I gave which says otherwise.
Whatever.......

That was on draft day though. He never got another offer after that.

Whatever what? The Astros didn't have 500k much less 1.1 million after they couldn't sign Aiken.
But like I said before... I'm mad because of the lost time for another player and how he went about this.

That's only high school players. I think we would have heard if one of our commitments would be interested in enrolling early. A player at a JC or another four year school wouldn't be eligible. We couldn't get someone like Linden who was just here for a semester.

Correct. If he had accepted the $1.1 million at that time they would have drafted him at a slot which allowed for that much money & he would have signed.
When he declined in order to hold out for $1.5 million the Astros dropped him down to a slot in which they knew they could only come up with the amount he was demanding if other draft dominoes fell into place, which they didn't.
