The Aiken camp does have the upper hand in one area: time. Their deadline is 4pm ET tomorrow. The Astros deadline for that deal is prior to that (due to having to ink Nix and then negotiate Marshall). If it's 3pm or later tomorrow, the Astros should start feeling the heat whereas the Aiken camp can still sit back if they want to and wait for the number to rise.

You would think the Astros would want to do a physical on Marshall before they would sign him to anything. To our knowledge that hasn't happened yet.

Yeah, if Aiken signs, that's the best case scenario: He signs really late so the Astros don't have time to make a deal with Marshall. I don't think they'll just let him walk, so that's what I'm hoping for.

I'm sure it was hard to get someone last minute. We won't be playing them though so it's not a big deal.
