Has it been said what exactly is wrong with Aiken's arm?

If the Stros don't sign Aiken some front office changes have to be made I'd think. I mean that pisses away a #1 overall pick when they could have taken Rodon, Nola, or Kolek and gotten pretty decent fairly similar value from all 3 picks.

Amen to that. But I do not think Luhnow is dumb enough to go 0 for 3. My best case scenario is Houston signs Aiken and Nix, leaving Marshall at LSU.

This is what will probably happen.

That has been my belief the whole time. I just hope the relationship with Aiken and the FO can be repaired and have a healthy future. Sadly, Idk if the damage done was too severe.

Even if Aiken needs Tommy Johns, I would still sign him. It is not near the devastating injury it once was. He very well could go on to a long and productive career, as many other players have.

We don't know the relationship between Aiken and the Astros. It's probably not good, but the only things we are hearing is from Close. Close and the Astros probably have burned a bridge, but that doesn't mean Aiken has.

In the end, money talks. That's really the main thing that matters at this point regardless of relationship.

That DAT thread is nuts. I just want this all over with now

Agreed, but if you were in the situation, you know damn well that you would be pissed the company you are about to go work for tried to short change you, when you have a great track record like he does. It would piss anybody off. But I have read that Aikens parents are in control of some of the contract negotiations, and clearly they are not fans of the Houston FO right now. I'm just hoping all parties can come out ahead in this and he can develope into a great starter in a short amount of time.

Both sides know that Tommy John is inevitable at some point, which makes his true value almost impossible to determine. If I'm Aiken, I take the money. Too many variables if he leaves it on the table. Personally, I hope he waits until the last minute to leave Mac at LSU.

What I posted in the DAT thread.

Y'all think I was on edge yesterday? shite, we've had guys who are normally very friendly at each other's throats the past few days. It's been a frustrating time to be a fan between Appel, Aiken, trade leaks, and a struggling team

I have to agree with you... At the end of the day Aiken has to take whatever the offer is. If I'm him I'm holding out and banking on the Astros increasing their offer just so they can be done with this saga and give themselves time at Marshall/Nix.

And yesterday they had an article stating that there is legit concern with Aikens elbow.

This isn't dissimilar from a trial where each side has it's own experts testifying in their own best interests.

Of course each party can find a doctor to back up their stance on Aiken's arm. If that was the end all be all of it, we'd be here all day arguing about which doctor was more credible, experienced, educated, etc.

I don't believe what's coming out about his UCL being "barely there" and Tommy John not being a realistic fix. One of those two has to be wrong. Tommy John is a complete replacement of the UCL with a tendon. It wouldn't matter how much is there to start with.

I think what they're saying is that not having much of a UCL is what allows him to throw 97mph. If they repaired that with Tommy John, there's no guarantee that he would still throw that hard

People still won't believe you when you tell them that.

The only games that may not be on TV are non-confernece road games and CST/Jumbo has already said they might pick up some of those.

Glad to hear it! Still got those pesky nonconference games to worry about though... hopefully some of those will be there too.

Yep. And those have always been not on TV/online, with the exception of, like you said, where local TV picks them up.

I think Jumbo still has some hurdles to jump before they can grab the rights to those away midweek games though.

At the end of the day, I just want to be able to have the ability to watch every weekend game, home and away, on some form of media. I actually prefer internet/online to TV. Additionally, as we've seen LSU baseball never travels prior to conference play for weekend games, so that's not a worry anymore.

I'll go to every home midweek game. Away midweek games are few and far between especially when you exclude the WP Classic, which Cox still has the rights to.
